Calzaghe has wanted the Jones fight for almost ten years. When Calzaghe called out Pavlik, Jones wasn't entertaining the idea of fighting a guy like Calzaghe. He didn't decide that a fight with the light Heavyweight and Super Middleweight Champion was attainable until he beat Trinidad decisively and Joe Calzaghe looked vulnerable.

When the jones fight became a reality, he quickly jumped on it. Can't blame the guy for that.

 

un defeated with more than 20 title defenses in his divison, has fought and beat the top super middleweights, and he is a bum? I am sorry but you can call Floyd the best fighter in the world and he hasnt done **** at 140 and at 147 yet Calzaghe remains undefeated and beats Lacy, Kessler and Hopkins and some how he is a ****ing bum?

According to Joe, Pavlik was a worthy opponent when his best win was Zuniga. Now with KO wins over McKart, Zertuche, Miranda, and Taylor he isn't worthy because he has "more to prove." At the end of the day, let's see you justify that nonsense!

First off I would prefer Joe was fighting Pavlik, but what if Joe beats him like he beat Jeff Lacy, which about 1 in a 100 people here thought he would do!

Joe gets barely no credit for beating Lacy so he probably thinks RJJ is one of the greatest if not the greatest fighter of his era so a win against him no mater if he is past it or not will mean more on his record than Pavlik.

In 25 years Joe will be remembered for his wins over hopkins and RJJ (if he wins) and Joe always said he wants to be a legend and by beating legends his record will look great.

At the end of the Day I hope he beats jones jnr and fights pavlik but i don't see Joe taking such a high risk fight for such little reward after what happened against Lacy.

Yes he is. If he had kept is mouth shut about Pavlik, or if he said something like; "Kelly is a good fighter with a great career ahead of him. I've got one fight left, and it's Roy Jones" things would be different. However, the non-stop bull**** gets irritating. The comparisons to Lacy are ****ing ridiculous. Pavlik and Lacy both hit hard. The similarites start and stop right there.
