At the end of the day, no, make that before the end of the 10th round, Joe gets brutally beaten and knocked the **** out by Pavlik. HE KNOWS THAT, and so does his daddy. To bad his fans can't see it.

Calzaghe will most likely fight Pavlik after they both win their next fights so we'll see who is better.

Jones is just a name on the resume at this point while Hopkins was #3 p4p and coming off two wins over top 10 p4p fighters (Tarver, Winky).

I'd give a slight edge to Joe when he fights Kelly.

I'd give a slight edge to Roy if Joe and him fought in their primes at 168.

At the end of the day the argument isn't whether or not Calzaghe is making the right decision by fighting RJJ (obviously he is). It's whether he went about this the right way...which he didn't.

Joe said it himself Pavlik has one dimension, he is limited you must admit that. Joe also mentioned his power, this shows he respects Pavliks power and wouldn't want to get hit flush. We all know Joe is a smart boxer I think he'd be quite capable of staying away from Pavlik and making his face a mess in the process. It's not like Joe has a bad chin and would be able to take Pavliks shot. As we can see against Kessler he got hit with some bombs and I think Pavlik and Kessler arn't to differant in that department.

    1) Kelly is no longer an "up and comer" and hasn't been for awhile.

    2) The Jones fight wasn't signed until July 9, 2008, a month after Kelly fought Lockett and called out Joe.

    3) Joe called out Kelly in November 2007 after the Kessler fight.

He also called Kelly out about 10 minutes after the first Taylor fight, and again before the Calzaghe/BHop fight.

my bad I can see how Pavlik was now a massive name after beating a punch pag. Jermain taylor is a bigger name than Pavlik.. you know why? he beat Hopkins.

Umm, Kelly beat JT, twice. :huh

Kelly beat the most feared puncher at the time, Miranda.

On HBO, Kelly put Zertuche to sleep on his feet. I realize Zertuche was and is not a household name, but it was the fact that he was never down in a fight, and Kelly had him vertically unconscious.

We talking the same Bernard Hopkins who couldn't sell out his fight with Calz?

Name value is entirely debatable unless you have #s to pull it up. I can honestly say that 99% of all casual fans had no clue who Jermaine is..and judging by how unpopular Hopkins is, chances are many didn't even follow their series of fights.

    Draw power is always debatable.

This is just a load of pure hate, i am a Calzaghe fan but what the guys saying is true. He wants the money and the fame and the big stage. He's made a few quid but watched while others less worthy and others as worthy have had more. He did want the Hopkins and Jones fights for years. The truth is they didnt touch him coz he would'nt sell and his record suggested he was quality so why fight some unknown guy thats on paper as quality as a big name in the US when you can just fight the famous US guys and not worry about not selling and lossing to someone that was supposedly a nobody?

Joe hated this, he felt uncoveted and that he was'nt/didnt get the fame he felt he deserved. He was determined to get those fights, that **** really pissed him off. I'll be objective here and say at that point if he had fought the Nard n Jones Jr fights he may have lost twice but the fact is THEY didnt want to fight him. Joe's settleing a score.

As for Pavlik, joe knows he's a puncher and that he is real dangerous but coz thats all people are talking about he's pissed coz he naturally as Unified Champ n two weight belt holder feels we should be saying 'yeah good fighter, Kelly's got an obvious chance etc..But in the Great Champ, he's the new Champ show some ****ing respect etc...

People need to wake up2 the fact he aint scared of no-one and doesnt need to be, he just wants the recognition and reward of the 2 said fights and to settle his score with them, he's done half of it with Nard, now its down to Jones.

N If he beats Jones n looks even halfway good, them wake the **** up and realize he WILL have atleast one more fight. And that fight will be against Kelly Pavlik.

And those offers were made to Pavlik and he turned them down, n thats fine he felt he didnt want to go that route at that point, if he was to fight Joe he'd want to work up to it. Now he can wait, its good for him; Joe's only getting older. But he has to prove he can beat Jones Jr first.

Point is all of what Joe's been quoted as saying is true. Look at what the first guy to respond said, 'Well he ducked Glen Johnson'. So that guys minds went something like this..............he's read it and actually hated it but thought **** maybe he has a point,.............ah **** him i still say he ducked glenn johnson'

    Its just pure hate.

Drawing power is in fact debatable, but is there any real boxing fan who doubts that Pavlik/Calzaghe could sell out any arena in the midwest, the east coast, or Great Britain, and do huge PPV numbers??? That's why the argument that says RJJ is worth more breaks down pretty fast when you think about it.
