Why would it? I have no horse in this race...just a stance on what Calzaghe did in this situation. I don't care if he fights Pavlik or not nor do I care who wins. The only ones catching feelings are the Joe C boys. In fact your entire post had a "LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE!" vibe to it. At the end of the day, There's a difference between subjectivity and fanboyism...and I think we see what side some of you people sleep on.
No he doesn't - it doesn't matter if Pavlik turns out to be can of the century. It's simply a competitive fight that should have been made.
Yes but his resume backs it up. Joe declared himself greater then Lennox Lewis, after beating Tocker Podwill (seriously). He stated he was a legend killer after beating 43 year old Hopkins. He's always come out with stuff...
Again with the Tocker Pudwill, the fallback guy for idiots like you disparaging Joe (Hi Again, Bubs). Tocker Pudwill was a last minute step in for an injured opponent. Get over it? Calzaghe has the greater resume when compared to Lennox Lewis, over 20 title defenses, never lost, beaten everyone in his own division. Plus, he's a boxer. If he doesn't believe he's one of the best ever, he shouldn't be out there, it's a confidence sport. Really, give up posting in Calzaghe threads, you're a ****ing tit.
In an interview after the Tocker Pudwill fight Calzaghe claimed he was better then Lennox Lewis. He had not even made 20 WBogus defences by then. Get your facts right before you even attempt to spew your bile. This is a thread about Calzaghe trash talk, and people are allowed to post trash talk facts. This quote was after the Tocker Podwill fight, and before the Mitchell fight. Lewis had just finished his illustrious Career. This content is protected "Obviously Lewis is bigger than me," he says. "But he's not better than me. I honestly believe I'm the best boxer in Britain." Calzaghe states coming off a Tocker Pudwill victory...
So Jones was scared to fight Joe, but wasn't scared to fight Hopkins, Toney, and for the HW title of the world. "I could probably give Jones a tough fight, probably the best fight he's ever had," said Calzaghe. "But I know my capabilities and unless I got paid the crown jewels I wouldn't want to risk it." Joe Calzaghe 2003 This content is protected
No. Someone posted a quote from Joe a while back in which Joe said he wouldn't fight Jones unless he was paid the crown jewels to do it. JOE NEVER WANTED RJJ IN HIS PRIME!!!!:deal Thanks to Jon Oli for posting the reference. I hadn't read this far yet.
Oh **** I've heard it all now, maybe I should start a Calzaghe fan quote of the week thread. Greater resume to Lewis on the strength of taking on WBO bums for 20 fights? You know nothing, please do the world a favour and kill yourself. I hope Jones turns this mouthy Welsh **** into the next Gerald McClellan, **** Calzaghe, he's an absolute disgrace.
Notice Joe said he wanted to keep the 168 belt AFTER Pavlik/Bhop was announced. Him and daddy get down on their knees every night and PRAY for a Bhop win. The boxing gods aren't going to oblige them though.
Because he knew he'd get ****ed up. Joe dodged Jones and Hopkins for years, knowing that time was on his side. All of a sudden he's keen to fight them when they look a bit shop-worn, I wonder why :think
I know you've stated your extreme dislike for Calzaghe, but how many times does this statement have to be proven factually incorrect? You can denigrate Calzaghe's talents, his resume, the quality of his WBO belt etc, and make a case, which is , depending on your point of view, spot on or bull****. But it is factually incorrect to state that . Moreover, you know that is the case. Do you think if you repeat it enough times it will become true ? Any more than the statements made by some ****wits that Roy dodged Darius, or Lennox had a glass chin ? You're flogging a dead horse here, FW.
