Why the hell would he call out Winky-Wright? Guy got taken to prison by Hopkins.

Calzaghe is just trying to avoid Pavlik while trying to convince everyone that he's not ducking. He wants a pension fund, not a competition.

I dunno....if Pavlik beats Hopkins I doubt JC will call out anyone except for a RJJ rematch as he will know that he'll just get bombarded with "why not Pavlik" all day long. He'll either retire or give in and actually make the Pavlik fight. I do think if he felt his legacy was on the edge then he might just go for it.

However how he thinks of his legacy and how other people do are two different things.

Yeah, and Hopkins gassed against Calzaghe. What does that tell you?

Wright would get his ass kicked badly by Calzaghe, he has no advantages whatsoever. Calzaghe takes his only weapon - the jab away, is way bigger than him, higher work-rate, faster at 168/175.

Kinda agree and kinda not. You cannot just compare everything as linear as you are. Remember each fight is different, its like chess, two players can play each other 5 times and you can bet each game will be different.

I will say, if its the total blowout then thats different.

Calzaghe gets way too much hate and Pavlik gets way too much credit for such a short title reign. He has every right to talk **** after Pavlik and all his rabid fanboys claim that Calzaghe is afraid of Pavlik because he's such a cherry picker. I'm not a fanboy of either, but I have to say it works both ways, and JC is far more accomplished than Pavlik at this point.

Rewatch the fight. Ugliest fight i've seen. Very close too with lots of dirty work by Hopkins that frustrated Winky. Winky would be a very difficult puzzle for Calzaghe.

Do you think Winky has any chance against Joe? You'd get great odds......

Joe is going to look bad if Pavlik does better than a controversial SD against Hopkins. I hope Hopkins wins but I can't see it.

You are generally correct here, imo. But if Pavlik beats Hops by stoppage or even UD, Cal is gonna' have to put up or shut up. If not, he lends enormous weight to the arguments of those whom you label Pavlik 'fanboys' and their numbers will grow exponentially.

If Pavlik Beats Bhop, Joe will fight him, end of.

First off its just pavlik Cal has to fight, then its Pavlik and Dawson, then Pavlik,Dawson and Taylor and now its Pavlik,Dawson,Taylor or WINKY!!??
WTF are you people smoking and can i get some sent over? I'll take that bet on him calling out Tarver or Johnson!!??. If Joe beats Roy and Pavlik loses against Bhop(which I have gone for) I personally hope he would fight Dawson, but to be honest i havent a ****ing clue what Joe would do, he might retire, but you can bet your life it doesnt involve Tarver,Winky or Johnson.

    Thanks for the chuckle tho.

Calzaghe never used to disrespect fighters because he wasn't as confident back then as he is today. It is only since he is a big name everyone is slagging him off trying to get him in the ring with him he is only defending himself, fighters fight because they think there the best, there not gonna say a potential opponant is better than them are they
