And I know for a fact that there are two big fights that Calzaghe turned down or pulled out of and that was with Johnson after his wins over jones and tarver. And a fight with Jones in which Warren called the offer to fight the then p4p king Jones peanuts.

I think that Joes place in history really hangs on the outcome of his fight with Hopkins. If he loses I really think that his career ranking outside of the UK will be pretty bad. People will say "See I told you he fought nothing but bums" which I agree and disagree with. Early on It seemed that Joe was only interested in taking fights that were gimmes IE Veit TWICE, and a couple of guys that only thier parents knew who they were in Pudwell, Mcintire, Jimenez. But of late it seems that Joes is looking to make a place high on the all times lists. Taking on fights that are close to 50/50 going in.

I just dont know it the late push will be enough, and he sure cant afford to lose at this point.

informative post. puts the whole "everyone ducked joe" in perspective. always wondered why reid didn't get a rematch.
