On the s***ne he states that he was cutting corners prior to the Jones fight in training .Said money was never his motivating factor .He saw his skills fading after being dropped by Jones and Hopkins ..If he had come back he make the money but feels in his heart he would have been beat ..

An honest assertion from Joe..Good read .

More like he knew he was going to be exposed sooner or later.
Coming from a former Calzaghe fan

A faded Calzaghe with completely wreecked hands was still great enough to beat the snot out of a near prime but drugless Roy Jones and a best ever Hopkins

Just imagine what prime Calzaghe with strong hands would have done to these bitches

Even though he gets allot of flack I would have loved to him fight any of the guys in the super 6 ..His first loss may have come from one of those participants ..

Yeah, because while Roy Jones was ruling his division, Prime Calzaghe was fighting the great Tucker Pudwill

Jones was ruling the division while ducking Calz, Dariusz, Eubank. Benn and Collins

He did put a fantastic beatdown on that taxi driver though

As a Calzaghe fan I was so mad when he retired, he was still dominating fights and was top 3 P4P. In hindsight he made the right decision, without passion or confidence in your skill set retirement is the only option. Cheers to Joe for knowing when to call it quits, unlike countless other boxers.
