    . But you are still wrong because he fought 13 fighters who were rated when he fought them. Reid, Sheika, Woodhall, Veit2, Brewer, Mitchell, Ashira, Manfredo, Lacy, Kessler, Jones, Hopkins, Bika. Eubank got rated for his loss so could be included to make 14.

    Pudwill was a late sub for Tate who pulled out
    Sobot was a sub for undefeated Salmaci
    McIntyre was a sub for Echoles

    Thornberry was meant to only be an easy warm up for S Collins who had to pull out.
    Hopkins backed out of fighting Calzaghe
    Ottke wouldnt fight Calzaghe.

    Calzaghe beat the fighter that KOd #1 Liles, beat #3 Woodhall, Ottke wouldnt fight him, beat #5 Brewer, beat #6 Reid and #7 Tate pulled out against Calzaghe and retired.

    The comments about M Veit

    The win Calzaghe had over Veit was a very good victory.
    The first time Calzaghe beat Veit, Veit was 30-0 and hadnt beaten anyone of real note, hence he was blown away in a round by Calzaghe.
    When Calzaghe beat Veit a 2nd time Veit was an accomplished world rated 45-1 fighter who had some solid victories behind him, and was top 10 rated.
    Veit had beaten undefeated Dziarra who wasnt a great fighter but did go on to beat L Mock and undefeated M Oral who would go on to challenge MW champs A Abraham and S Sylvester recently.
    Veit had also beaten beaten undefeated Guerrero for the European union title.
    Veit beat future title challenger Salem and Mock.
    Veit also beat world rated C Brewer with an educated destructive 9th round KO.
    A note on Veit. He only ever lost to world champs or fighters who became world champs and has victories over Mock, Salem, Perdermo (a future Kessler challenger), Brewer when Brewer was world rated and Veit beat undefeated Braehmer who became the WBO LHW champ.
    A good Calzaghe victory over a mandatory world class SMW
    Also a great away victory for Calzaghe in Germany


    Veit has a better SMW resume than G Johnson, A Dirrell, A Abraham etc

    Bunch of copy paste's of your Calzaghe encyclopedia won't change the fact the 14 "title fights" I described in the 1st post were average if not questionable. Right? Right.

    Here's a copy-paste of my own, which refers to what Calzaghe did AFTER those 14 sub par fights and which this generation's top SMW have yet to go through for a timeline;

    Carl Froch is 34 and 2 to 4 years away from retirement.

    Lucian Bute is 31 and 3 to 5 years away from retirement.

    Andre Ward is 27 and maybe 15 ****in years away from retirement.

    Calzaghe still had 1) undefeated Lacy, 2) 2006 hungry Bika, 3) undefeated & prime Kessler and 4) old man but still ranked BHop worth mentioning to add to his resume. This means 'future', and that's only 2 good & 2 great wins. :-D

    Let's see what the future holds for Froch, Ward and Bute considering where the division is headed and how certain challenges could come from the MW & LHW divisions. Don't get me wrong Joe's marquee wins will be hard to match, but there will be possibilities within the next 4 years I'm sure.

    IMO at least one of them three ends up passing Joe in terms of achievements. 15 years from now SMW will have a much richer history considering it's a young division.

    Joe Calzaghe fighting guys who "were top 10 SMW, became top 10 SMW or had been top 10 SMW" is the same as Froch, Bute or Ward defending against the Greens, Mirandas & Brinkleys of the boxing world. National level promotion only lacking world class liaison, resulting in a padded record except for 4 wins out of 46.

You can't accept that current SMW's at this point in their careers, have resumes that can compare to Calzaghe's at a similar point in his career leaving current SMW's with time to try and match his accomplishments.

    You conveniently ignored and failed to comment on a lot of my points. I'll let the few who actually care about reading a thread now infested with your statistical and irrelevant bullshaaaat, decide for themselves as to who makes the most sense.

    You are not far from your physical prime at 31. Many boxers hit their peak at that age. If you lose when you are so young, the reason is that you fought a superior opponent.

    But everyone looks suddenly shot to **** when entering the ring with Joe. Thats normal.

    Calzaghe landed more slaps. As he always does.

    Calzaghe did a bit better, though, in terms of boxing career, dont you think?

    Was outslapped by Joe. No shame in that. Losing to Joe is normal, even for an ATG who eats young lions for breakfest.

    Less talented but won?
