A challenge Beyer obviously didnt fancy. Still Calzaghe beat the fighter that beat Beyer who was more respected in Kessler

Froch a mandatory who wasnt known at the time. So Calzaghe fought the higher rated and more highly respected B Hopkins.
Still FW who I doubt has much love for Calzaghe didnt seem to think Froch really wanted it when it was offered to Froch.

The world didnt want to see a rematch, in fact many called for Hopkins to retire and thought Hopkins was shot because of how Calzaghe bossed him around.
Calzaghe had to beat Jones and even then it took a first round KO to be suffered before Hopkins was willing to try and avenge that defeat

They would have fought in 2004 if Johnson had waited instead of fighting Jones. Johnson told Dan Goosen to forget about Joe. Yet he came running back to Calzaghe when Joe became a superstar after whooping Lacy.

Calzaghe was a LHW, Pavlik a MW. Let beaten Hopkins fight the fighters 2 divisions smaller.
You see nobody felt Pavlik would be able to beat Calzaghe, but many felt Jones would beat Calzaghe. Including you

Hindsight is one thing, but look at the facts, the Ring LHW champ beat The Ring #6 in a fight many expected him to lose. It was a big fight at the time but now Calzaghe clearly won, they say Jones was shot
