agreed.. calzaghe should definately go for roy jones towards the end of his career.. i would like to see calzaghe/pavlik but i dont think pavlik can defeat calzaghe.. not until a few years atleast.. but defintely someone like roy jones, dawson, or maybe even clinton woods

I know exactly what youre getting at with your point of view, but for me it should be Calzaghe-Woods and Jones Jr-Hopkins II

**** the business aspect, Woods is a better opponent than Jones. I don't think it would sell as well in the UK as Hatton Mayweather.

    In order or preference:

    1. Kelly Pavlik
    2. Clinton Woods (if he gets past Tarver)
    3. Winner of Chad Dawson - Glen Johnson
    4. Roy Jones Junior

    Provided he gets past Hopkins.

It's 2008, Jones is completely shot and Calzaghe would do a number on him.

i really disagree. how can the former p4p champ be so under rated by you apparent know it alls. calzaghe is fast on his feet and the slow opposition he continues to hand pick will lead him to an over rated nothing. its always been about money with calzaghe fighter runners up from the contender series

its time joe grew some balls and fought the people who want him like roy

Dawson at LHW or Pavlik at SMW. I hope to god he doesn't fight RJJ.

When I saw him against Tito it was the first time I'd seen him since he beat Woods. In the first couple of rounds I was sad to see how much he had deteriorated, to be fair he did improve as the fight went on. But you are delusional if you think he beats Calzaghe.

Its a bit like Lewis and Tyson. A lot of people(the majority) of people, particularly new fans, now state that Lewis beat Tyson. The fact that Tyson was more or less shot, is becoming increasingly irrelevant.

With time, beating RJJ would add to Calzaghes resume and the fact that Roy was totally shot would become increasing irrelevant for the majority of fans; sadly.

I think - and hope - he fights Pavlik next. Its a fight I want to see and would do huge business. If he gets past Bernie of course.

While he is doing that if RJJ gets a LHW title shot and gets hold of a belt which seems possible then RJJ vs JC would be on the cards if the money is too much for Joe to ignore.

Calzaghe/Jones sounds like a bad idea. At this point in time I think Slappy Joe would slap the **** right out of Roy. Calzaghe/Pavlik probably won't happen. As of right now the plan is for Pavlik to stay at 160 until after he fights Abraham in January '09. Top Rank has been pretty cautious in the way they match Kelly. He'll probably fight at least 1 "B" level opponent before he goes after the big guns at 168. That means it would be Summer 2009 before the fight coudld be made. That leaves Woods and Dawson.

Are you insane? Jones is way past his sell by date! I cannot believe that some people posting here are so clueless when it comes to these things. Who else would you like Joe to fight? Saoul Mamby?
