I was just about to post that.

I have to thank the haters. It's because of them talking about how Calzaghe has no legacy and will be forgotten about soon that Joe Calzaghe has more posts about him than 99.999 percent of active fighters.

he will remembered him but wont be held in in such high regards because is resume is pretty weak. his two greatest victorys came against to men past the age of 40. and he got dropped on his ass against both of them. just how it is. lennox lewis is kind of in that similar boat

Calzaghe will be remembered as a unbeaten fighter that fought many bums, a few hypejobs and some old men, aswell as dominating a weak division, of the super middleweights.

Calzaghe is the greatest super Middleweight, but who is number 2, Svenn Ottke? :rofl or Steve Collins Benn Eubank?
Robin Reid, Malinga, or Markus Beyer :rofl

the Super Middleweight division is still young and when a new SMW champ comes thru his position there would be replaced then his legacy will fade out

I don't think his legacy if fading. I think eventually he will be seen as fighting top contenders for years. He will go down with a nice legacy.

I dont think his legacy is fading, it could be thought that once Calzaghe beat these guys, he also ruined them.

    Somehow I doubt that.

Why. former champ Woodhall retires after Calzaghe beats him, former champ Robin Reid never looked as good after Calzaghe beat him along with Brewer, Mitchell, Sheika, Veit & Eubank. Lacy never looked anywhere as good after. Its like these guys lost confidence in themselves after losing to Calzaghe

Strange but Calaghe's legacy is the weakest part in his whole career,
beating 40 year old Jones and 45 old Hopkins is not giving him much props.
I'm not sure then how you could even possibly thought his legacy is good?

He should get back now and first beat Bute then the winner of tournament.

    What a twit.

Calzaghe took on the much bigger and more fearsome Lacy but he was scared of Pav ?

His career was essentially over after Bernard.

RJJ was just a last hurrah for the $$$ for both men.

Pavlik might have been ruined by BHop. Time will tell.

But can you imagine how ruined he would have been if Calzaghe had 'Lacyed' him ?

    He'd be in seclusion.

Salmon Rusdie would be seen more often in public!

It was mainly the American media who said Joe was going to get seriously ****ed up.

Notables such as Freddy Roach and James Toney predicted a slaughter. The American media dubbed him a smaller version of Tyson

    No.

    You're not.

You're a lying, dimwitted, ****-for-brains, and probably an alias !

how can u compare Kelly Pavlik to Jeff Lacy

Jeff Lacy's greatest win was Scott Pemberton and Omar Sheika while Pavlik KO Jermain Taylor and Edison Miranda

Pavlik looked way more dangerous as an opponent at that time, than Jeff Lacy did.

Joe Calzaghe being floored by Hopkins, would have had doubts about Pavlik's right hand.

Hoy knob-end!! This site is for opinions, not insults, but if you wanna trade insults i'll happily oblige!!! The fact is I AM a fan of Calzaghe's but i'm also a realist! You don't like what my opinion is of a fighter I admired? I couldn't give a ****!! The fact is that Joe blew the chance he had at being a high ranking ATG how could ANY fan of his NOT be frustrated by that? As for what the "Notables" said about Lacey, who gives a ****? Their opinions were proved wrong by Joe's (Admittedly brilliant) performance and Lacey's subsequent failings! The fact is that Joe was Lacey's first world class opponent and he got exposed!! As for the RJJ fight happening, yes it was for easy money I agree but arsehole, that proves my point!! He COULD have opted for a meaningful fight against Pavlik, who was available but Joe didn't!!As you rightly say he took the easy money!!!! Which was frustrating because imo he could have beat Pavlik, but guess what imbecile? He would have made far more money fighting the undefeated middleweight champion of the world in a super-fight than a former great who had been ko'd in 3 of his previous 4 fights!! And a victory against Pavlik, at that time would have added significant substance to Joe's resume, but of course Joe opted to take the **** out of Roy Jones instead!! When did I write that Joe was "Scared" of Pavlik, knob-end?? I wrote that he "Swerved" him, which he did!!! WHY DID HE NOT FIGHT PAVLIK?????? Are you seriously suggesting that Joe didn't fight Pavlik because of his performance against Lacey??? That just about sums you up!! "Oh! Joe didn't want to fight Kelly Pavlik in case he damaged him"!! Pull your head out of his arse and ask him 'cos i'd love to know!! The truth is that Pavlik at that time was considered a risk to his precious "0".When in fact it is fighting the best opponents around that gets you remembered as a high-ranking ATG, which is what Joe craves!! The man had the opportunity on numerous occasions to cement his legacy, but for a lot of his career he was inactive, due to injury, which meant he missed those fights, which is why the last fights he had should have mattered to him!!!!!! Your opinion is yours, mine is mine, so what? Now, if you want to continue the insults, please do but allow me to assure you that you possess neither the wit nor the wisdom to finish nowhere but 2nd!
P.S I possess a verified I.Q of 155 so your "Dim witted" statement is rather foolish, even for you!!!

    Joe's legacy is secure.

He beat over ten champions, he had over 20 title fights without ever losing, he was still beating young prime fighters (Lacy, Kessler, Bika) when he was past the age of 35 and he finished off his career by defeating two fighters who wouldn't fight him early in their career in Jones and Hopkins.

Notice how everyone is quick to talk about Jones and Hopkins being shot at the time but believe Joe, with bad hands, a tendency to be dropped more and more late in his career and a slowing down of handspeed was apparently prime at the time? lol.

The reason Joe didn't fight Pavlik was simple - Pavlik signed to fight Hopkins and then got schooled. Before that? Pavlik didn't represent as much money to Joe as Hopkins or Kessler.
