Calzaghes legacy is growing greater by the day

    I got this far and became sick of hearing that hopkins and jones were in their prime when they fought him.

    Hopkins best win was against tinidad imo which was 7 years before calzaghe, not against a shot & fat winky wright and an over-hyped Kell Pavlick who never fought someone as technical as B-Hop. Also I don't care how differently people age, no one is in their prime at the age 40+. Like others have said the only thing that has got hopkins this far is his style which is not dependent on exceptional speed or power.

    Jones was no where near his best. His movement was not there and I would be willing to bet the 2 KO's he suffered prior had a negative affect on his reactions. The prime of his career was from early/mid 90's until the early 2000's. It all dropped off when he made the move to HW and then proceeded to drop back down in weight classes too quickly which is hard on fighters.

    I will say when he fought them they were still above average fighters, but they just did not posses the magic that they once had years ago.

    ^ I rate Hopkins win over Over-hyped Kelly Pavlik at par with Calzaghe's win over Over-hyped Jeff Lacy. Both are wins, but nothing special, except in the eyes of Calzaghe fans who REALLY need Joe to have the ILLUSION of major wins.

    You have been shown facts that Hopkins turned down Calzaghe in America years previous :lol:. Except it. If you can :smoke

    Questions for you President. Bet you bottle it like Hopkins did years ago, and dont/cant answer.

    1.When was Calzaghe meant to fight Jones before :huh, Jones was a LHW who went to HW before Calzaghe beat B Mitchell. So when?

    2.But why should Joe have had to have gone to America :huh, the best SMWs were/are European and Hopkins bottled it :patsch. Joe beat all that was willing to meet him, and beat Americas best SMWs that would meet him. So who was he meant to travel for?

    3.As Hopkins wouldnt fight Calzaghe when in your opinion was Calzaghe meant to go to America to fight him?

    4. On Lacys win resume is Vanderpool, Pemberton, Sheika, Reid (who beat Brinkley, who Bute just fought), Williams, Manfredo & Tsypko. So what active American SMW has a better resume than him?

    5. You say Kessler has a poor resume with wins over Siaca (WBA camp), Mundine away the 2 time WBA champ, Lucas the former WBC champ, Beyer (WBC champ and 3 time WBC champ), Andrade when undefeated, Sartison now WBA regular champ, Haussler away, Froch (WBC champ), Thobela the former WBC champ. So what active SMW has a better resume than Kessler?

    Im sure your answers will provide much amusement, just like all the times you have Pwned yourself.

    You are aware arent you that Pudwill and McIntyre were late subs for Tate and Echoles who like Hopkins, Taylor, Telesco & Pavlik backed out of fighting Calzaghe

    Thats Bute who was lucky to many not have a KO loss against him to ANDRADE :lol:. What a joke post you are to write that when one is just an IBF champ and the other was a WBO WBC WBA IBF Ring champ with 21 defences and a far superior resume :patsch

    LOL, you debate like a chump researching on BoxingRec.
    Acting as if wins over B level former champions like Vanderpool, Pemberton, Sheika, Reid, Haussler, Lucas, and Beyer are AMAZING wins. Chump, most of the boxing public never knew or forgot most of these guys names right after the match.
    That the networks were able to convince UK fans that Lacy was "the next Mike Tyson" only serves to show how dense the UK boxing club truly is.
    In America, the Hopkins schooling of of Kelly Pavlik is seen what it is, an ATG schooling a hyped network commodity, same as Lacy Vs Calzaghe, cept Calzaghe is no ATG.

    The bolded is so true. Look what Mayweather did to Hatton. After the dust settled its not even in Mayweathers top 5 wins in my opinion.
