Kessler beat Froch who beat Dirrell

is going into the past aswell

I get what you mean, and I know you know what I mean when I say these Fighter A beat Fighter B who beat Fighter C, dont really mean ****. Styles makes fights.

Fernando Vargas beat Winky Wright who beat Felix Trinidad who beat Fernando Vargas who beat Javier Castillejo who beat Felix Sturm (whom some think can beat Prime Hopkins) who beat Javier Castillejo who beat Roman Karmazin who beat Kassim Ouma who beat Verno Phillips who beat Cory Spinks who beat Zab Judah who beat Cory Spinks who beat Ricardo Mayorga who beat Fernando Vargas.

What the hell does that mean?

Yes, IF he does! But i have a strong feeling Ward is gonna get beaten before he gets that far! Besides i doubt he can get all these guys to Oakland!

His legacy is only growing in the minds of Calzaghe fans, I think everyone else just forgot about him.

Yes if he does that, the first thing he is going to have to do is fight outside of Oakland. Lets see him fight AA in Germany or Lucian in Canada.

Tito was never the same above 147. Not at 154, and especially 160. He was just a natural welter.

Joe Calzaghe was one of the best. Not in the same league as prime Roy Jones but not so far apart. Right now I would say Ward and Bute are on that level. Ward just slightly behind and Bute slightly better.

Off subject but Tito was just as effective at 154 than 147.At 5'11" he looked just as good physically aswell.

IMO Trinidad should have stayed at 154 instead of quickly moving up and getting into that Don King middleweight tourney.

We may have seen the Hoya rematch if Tito had stayed at 54.:think

EXACTLY! and this is NO "perhaps" statement.
Had Joe met either of the above during their peaks he'd have at least 1-2 loses on his record which is why Warren wouldn't allow it and Calzgahe didn't press it.
and why should he when he could stay in his gold fish bowl of a island fighting cab drivers, past their prime B level ex-champions, and sparring partners. :yep
There is absolutely no doubt he would lose to James Toney even worst than Jirov did, and BHOP would have wreaked him as badly as Joe did Lacy since Joe is as big a hype as Lacy ever was.

In the end, the history books will remember Joe Calzaghe for what he really was; A well managed "decent" fighter with limited skills who never stepped up in his prime to face the greatest talents of the time. Hence, never came close to meeting his full potential.
What a waste of time filling a resume with british bums. :yep

No he was not the same at 154. It always took an accumalation of punches when he left 147. In his prime at welterweight, it only took one shot.

slappy let someone else take his shine tho he shoulda came back and beat dawson man. leave no dought
kinda like mayweather really needs to beat pac and vice versa you need to leave no dought

    No. Wrong analogy again.

Calzaghe beat Kessler, who went on to beat Froch who beat Dirrell. A Kessler that was already messed up even before the tournament, which is why he wasn't even that good looking against Perdomo.

In this point, Kessler only degraded from the high point from which Calzaghe took him out.

The other analogy goes from Audley beat Williams who beat Tyson who beat Holmes who beat Ali who beat Foreman...

But the weakness of this argument is that these guys Audley fought didn't go on. They already traveled far and lost anything which made them strong at the time they beat the names they beat.

Which is that they've already degraded very much at the time they ever reached Audley.

I mean the Tyson Williams beat was crap. The Holmes Tyson beat was old. The Ali that Holmes beat was OLD. The only good part here is Ali beating Foreman.

In comparison, Calzaghe beat Kessler who became a champion again, who even with ocular problems, still managed to fight after a long lay-off 2 years from that defeat, and still became a champion after beating Froch, who only recently matched up with Dirrell and defeated Pascal (who became the LHW champion after beating Dawson).

All this at 2-3 years after Calzaghe gave Kessler his first loss and when Calzaghe was 35 already, with Kessler much younger and less broken down than he is today.

Kessler had an injured hand against calzaghe. He had surgery immediately after the fight.
