My head and my heart says Joe should win on Saturday. But there is just something in my mind telling me Kessler will win, don't know why really, maybe because its hard not to like him, I dunno. But I thought If Calzaghe did lose It would be a shame, as such an incredibly talented fighter would have not much of a legacy. The Lacy win was great, but as Lacy seems more and more ruined by that loss, people say he was just hype. He has other good wins, but no career defining one. If he does win however, he has his career defining win, and should be able to get a fight with either Hopkins or Pavlik to pad out his resume. I think he wins both those fights pretty easily, and if he were to then retire, he retires with 4 really big wins - Eubank, Lacy, Kessler, Hopkins. Add on the fact that he is unbeaten, and champ for 10 years, and prob best SM ever, he has a real nice ATG resume. Which I think he deserves, as he has finally in this late stage of his career, really begun to try to carve out a legacy for himself. He could have had a much better one, and been a true ATG with the talent he has, but I think despite the dissapointment of his career, he at least deserves a good legacy for such an enormously talented fighter. Its all ruined If he loses on Saturday though..
Unfortunately for Joe he beat Lacy too badly. If JC had been less dominating, taken more shots and generally been 'worse', he would now be rated higher than he is by his detractors. Crazy, but true. Add to not fighting in the states, not having the big fights (jones, ottke, hopkins etc regardless of fault), only having the WBO belt, not unifying etc, means that he needs to beat Kessler to cement his legacy.
