i would say clinton woods becuase this fight has been brewing for ages. if he fights hopkins all you could say is that bernards age had fianally caught up with him. kelley pavlik would be interesting but pavlik is staying at middlewieght. and cussing calzaghe is a way of getting a reputatoin a shame becuase pavlik isnt that good but is getting much more attention becuase he is a middleiweght.
A bum? No way! Far from it! Froch is probably the 6th best SMW, although you wouldn't know that by the level of competition he has fought so far. He is has one shot KO punching power - probably the hardest puncher in the division - but his defense is loose, his movement not the best, and the reason why he can hit so hard is because he has been allowed to plant his feel so well, by not the best competition out there. It remain so be seen how well he does against a very good boxer like Inkin! Personally, I would pick Inkin! http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27240
i know im a bit harsh on the guy but i cant stand him he talks ****&hasnt backed it up,when hes beaten someone of note i might take him seriously, for him to say hes better than calzaghe&kessler is beyond a joke.
To be fair to Carl, he only said that he was better than everyone else in the division, except for Joe and Mikkel and that he would be very competitive against the winner of JC-MK. His camp said he would probably beat Kessler. He probably thinks he is the second best in the division, after Calzaghe... Carl KNOWS that he has to step up to the plate though to be taken seriously. Unless he makes a big fight in Spring 2008 - and we are talking BIG - Inkin BIG - Top 5-7 SMW BIG - he will have lost a lot of credibility and no one will listen to him mouth off anymore. But, I think he will - he knows he has to deliver sometime...
I would put my entire bank account on Clinton Woods, Joe fights and beats a top IBF light-heavie titlist and that would be the cherrie on top of the cake. Carl Froch ( if he beats Robin Reid) would enable Joe to persue that goal of SMW title defenses record but I think even Joe is tired of that. All the other options present potential risk to outweigh potential gain, and non risk taker Warren doesn't put Calzaghe's legacy on risk against men who can possibly beat him...
