I also found it interesting that Joe stated he needs lots of sparring partners. The no jump rope piece is a bit odd; however, perhaps Enzo believes all the roadwork is sufficient to build up the legs and stamina, and bag work is enough for timing?
Weightlifting will make an athlete stronger and faster. Someone please explain to me how it could make you slower.
As other posters have said,tyson didnt use weights before prison. After the weights he seemed to lose a bit of speed and stamina. He may have hit harder with one punch but that maybe because he concentrated on the one punch more,and lost his combos. Tyson didnt need weight training,i think it slowed him and made him less agile.
