Anyone who actually KNOWS boxing knows Sven Ottke lost 4-5 decisions.

Anyone who actually KNOWS boxing is that any time Sven robbed a
fighter, Calzaghe invariably got them in the ring next and dominated them.

Calzaghe even offered to fight Ottke for 1 euro in his hometown to get the fight, Ottke knew he'd be KO'ed and was never going near it.

To me he's the best 168 lber to ever lace em up. Jones was great but he had a short stay at the weight. Joe had the reign and the streak

Veit - went on to beat undefeated Braehmer who is current WBO LHW champ

Mkertchyan - went on to win the European title against an undefeated champion

Starie - held a win over Woods who won the IBF LHW title

Manfredo - was in the Ring top 10 at time of fight

Jones - was in the Ring top 10 at time of fight

Sheika - who beat G Johnson

Joe won the fight away, beating the #1 LHW. WHo beat Wright in his fight before and Pavlik in his fight after. Remember one of the American judges gave Hopkins round 11, watch that round again and tell me if you score that round to Hopkins, the others had it by 5 and 3 points to Calzaghe
Yet was still rated in the Ring top 10 LHW ratings at the time and Hopkins didnt think Jones was shot, before he fought him recently
Eubank fought 6/7 months before fighting Calzaghe and around 5 months before that scoring KOs in both fights against low opposition, in his fight before that he was fighting Collins to a SD. After Calzaghe beat him he went up to CW and gave WBO CW champ Thompson 2 hard fights. Thats how shot he was at 31

A favourite to beat Calzaghe when they fought
    Mitchell
    Brewer
    Starie
    Woodhall
    Reid
    Mkertchyan
    Sheika

Who cares. Every single one of us have debated his resume 1 million times.

I rated him,...very very highly. i'm not going to cry about it if someone disagrees with me.

I agree, but he could definitely have done more. He's my favorite fighter, but I disagree with his 'I have to be undefeated' mentality. Back in the day, you fought on until you were beaten, and nobody thought any less of you because you finally lost.

To me, Calzaghe shouldn't have retired until he was 50-0 or until he had his first loss. There's still people left for him to beat upon if he has it in him...

Ok mate, you've had your fun, now let's put things into perspective:

It was Eubank's 50th fight, he was well past prime, he had already lost two decisions to Collins, and he went on to lose twice to Thompson, the second time via stoppage.

"Giving hard fights" sounds nice when you're trying to make him look like he wasn't shot, but the truth is he got stopped for the only time in his career.

Going back to some other names you tried to sugarcoat:

-Manfredo: The guy hasn't got a single decent name in his resume. A lot of his wins came against guys who had lost fights in the double digits. The guy actually lost to Jeff Lacy!

-Mkrtchyan: Did you say undefeated? He had already been stopped when Denis Inkin made his debut against him.

-Mitchell: Who exactly has he beat?

-Brewer: Got beaten by B-grade fighters, and went into the Calzaghe fight with a whole heap of losses behind him.

Like I said in another thread:

    decent fighter, weak resume.

Many fighters have had more than 50 fights, Chavez went over 90 fights before he got defeated. So Eubank was shot when he lost to Collins yet fought him to a SD in the rematch. So are you saying Eubank didnt give Thompson 2 hard fights? Eubank put Thompson down in the first fight, and made it a very close decision, 2nd time he got stopped due to bad swelling around his eye. The only time he got stopped in his career and 2 divisions above where he fought Calzaghe, hardly sounds shot
Going back to some other names you tried to sugarcoat:

Agreed and I never said different. What I did say was, he was in the Ring top 10 at time of the fight. Not the best but not the worst either
In your haste you have misread what was written, I said Mkertchyan beat an undefeated European champ. Becoming Euro champ is a good achievement. B Magee has just managed to do the same

Siaca, the same guy Kessler won his world title against, and F Liles. Also he fought Ottke to a SD. Ottke was an established world champ who made 21 defences
Agreed. But Brewer became a world class fighter, winning some, losing some, but staying in contention. Brewer fought Ottke to 2 SD losses, so must have some skills

    Chris Eubank
Eubank had 2 weeks to make the 168 pound limit when he was going to fight Mark Prince at LHW. So Eubank had to drain himself to make weight. In his fight against Tony Thompson 6 months later he weighed in as a Cruiserweight 190 pounds. Eubank was clearly past his best, and was also clearly weight drained. Eubank was struggling to make the 168 limit since the first Steve Collins fight. People were saying after Calzaghe UD Eubank, prime Eubank would have beaten Calzaghe that shows how far past it Eubank was in the public's eyes.

Branco Sobot: His first defense then was against a former Middleweight who fought at the SMW for the first time.

Juan Carlos Gimenez Ferreyra: 38 years old, had 8 loses

Robin Reid: good fighter, most live opponent so far for Calzaghe, SD is unfair coz Calzaghe won a close but clear decision. But this win dont make Calzaghe World Class, and his performance wasnt great either.

    Rick Thornberry: No Comment

    David Starie: British level fighter

    Omar Sheika: Gate keeper

Woodhall: Decent fighter, former british MW champ, was 32.

    Mario Veit: German hypejob

    McIntyre: No comment

Charles Brewer: Was struggling to do **** in the Middleweight division so moved up had 8 losses when he faced Calzaghe. Got KO by Pemberton who got KO by Lacy who got schooled by Calzaghe.

Jinemez: his overall opposition prior to Calzaghe had more losses to Wins.

    Tocker Pudwill: a real ATG

Charles Brewer: solid SMW good win for Calzaghe

Mkrtchyan: got KO by Inkin on Inkin debut

Kabery Salem: Got beat by Veit

    Veit: Again

Ashira: former Middleweight kenyan champ. Got beaten by Eastman.

Jeff Lacy: His best wins are Pemberton, Reid and Sheika. The only reason he was made favorite against Calzaghe was because he looked better beating up bums than Calzaghe did, and Calzaghes best win to date was against Reid who Lacy also defeated.

Sakio Bika: Tough guy, came up from Middleweight lost to Sam Solimon.

Peter Manfredo Jr: Got beaten up by a Welterweight Alfonso Gomez on Contender

Mikkel Kessler: Good win, probably his best but gets questioned since Ward schooled Kessler, while Kessler gave Kessler a good fight.

Bernard Hopkins: Many think Calzaghe lost, Calzaghe didnt accept the rematch.

Roy Jones Jr: Consensus RJJ was shot since 2004, Calzaghe also admitted this.

For a guy who is called one of the greatest thats a weak resume IMO.
