for those who trash calzaghes resume without actually disecting it i invite all JC fans to add there two cents and knowlege to this thread,if you have nothing constructive to give or you are still a tad bitter following saturday night then take your advances elsewhere...

i will start you off with 2 of his lesser victories:

charles brewer SMW:won the IBF belt following jones vacation of it,and lost 2 questionable SD's to sven otke, brewer also knocked out herol bomber graham

richie woodhall :eek:lympic bronze medalist by way of losing to roy jones in which jones recieved his infamous silver medal,he beat thulani malinga(a guy who defeated nigel, benn robin reid etc) to capture the WBC belt

yes they arent greats, but bums, no way!

il leave the eubanks, sheikas, kesslers, reids, hopkins etc to your goodselves to escribe!!

Sven Ottke got "beat" by at least two, maybe three of the guys that Calzaghe kicked the ass of.

I've heard a lot of people say that apart from the Reid fight, the other "robberies" that some talk about aren't really robberies.

Can't say the same though, I'm guilty of not following the great career of Sven Ottke. :D

exactly why they didn't fight. Calzaghe knocks him out and loses 116-112.

Calzaghe's resume was **** for years, the only good name on it was Eubank. Lately he's added Lacy, Kessler and Hopkins, which gives it a bit more depth, but not that much. Lacy is pretty much ****, always was, very limited, but it was still a dominant performance over an undefeated belt holder. Kessler was the clear No. 2 in Calzaghe's division and is one of the best fighters from Middle to light heavy of his generation, a good win there. Hopkins is old, and past his best, but he's still good enough to beat some of the best around his weight-class, and was the man at light-heavy, so this is also a good win. Jones means nothing, Jones is shot to ****.

Ottke never fought glen johnson and there's no way Mundine would've beaten Calzaghe. Especially the green Mundine that was sparked by the feather-fisted Ottke. Haha.

Ottke did fight Glenn Johnson. :?

One thing with rating a resume like Calzaghe's is you have to factor in the level of his consistancy. I can remember not long ago when all the bandwagon hype job fans were tooting Pavlik's horn, people were claiming his resume is just as strong as Calzaghe's on the back of Taylor alone. They ignore the fact that the type of fighters Calzaghe gets criticised for even having fought (Bika etc.) would be some of the best wins on Pavlik's resume.

Joes resume is very similar to a lot of other fighters - Ottkes, Kesslers (pre Joe), Dariosz, etc etc... but with good wins over Lacy, Kessler, and an ageing Hopkins nailed on the end.

He's really not. You just don't know anything about Calzaghe's career apart from his last six fights.
