Yeah, great idea, apart from I'm barely a Calzaghe fan, let alone a "cheer leader".

I simply asked where the Jones win ranked on Joe's resume? I'm not arguing that Joe has a great resume or that he only fought bums, like I said, think its a fairly good resume, not great.

Hows this for perspective, He's going to be considered an ATG and is a lock for the HOF. And theres nothing that you or any other hater can do about it.

If Barry McGuigan can make the HOF Joe can. Who exactly considers Joe an ATG?!?!?!

It only looks "tragic" to people who only recognize the top 1% of boxing names or are in general, a hater.

Joe has beaten legends, world champions, contenders and bums. It is a decent resume, anyone who says otherwise either that its "great" or "tragic" as you put it, needs to do more reaserch into the subject.

A ten year World Championship reign...

    A unbeaten 46-0 record...

Wins against Hopkins, Jones, Kessler, Lacy, Mitchell and Eubank....

    That makes him an ATG.

    You are obviously a hater...

I'd put it even below Reid and Mitchell to be honest. Not in the same league as his wins over Kessler, Hopkins and Lacy.

And your obviously a guy who knows squat about boxing. Sven Ottke was also unbeaten when he retired. He also had a long IBF reign and unfied the titles aswell. Joe used to beat up alot of his left overs. Is he an ATG aswell or doesnt your memory stretch back that far?

Did Trevor Berbuck and William Joppy have ten year World Championship reigns? Were they unbeaten 46-0?

Your argument is...an unbeaten 46-0 record shouldn't count for anything...its kind of a **** argument.
I'm not saying an unbeaten record counts for everything...but it is a very good achivement and does count for something. Why is that so difficult for you to understand?

Of course he will be on an ATG list, where you put him is subjective and i really couldnt care whereabouts he lands but he will be on it. If you honestly dont believe Calzaghe will appear on ATG lists in the future then you are either A)Demented,B)His Ex-Wife or C) Frank Warren.

As long as there is a SMW division they will always talk about Calzaghe. He will be the fighter they are measured against in the future. I'm sorry if that upsets you but its the truth.

What would they need that for when one beat Duran and the other beat Ali? Both of whom were legends. Isnt that the crux of your argument? Or is the crux of Calzaghes resume his 46-0 record? Sven Ottke retired at 34-0 or there abouts. Is he a legend too?

O i see:roll: Most historians rank fighters in ATG status according to there resume. The division they fought in is largely immaterial. If your talking about 68 alone then of course Joe has historical significance. But in the grand scheme of boxing from a historical perspective forget about it.
