Kessler - undefeated unified young - I think his future record will confirm the number #1 spot.
Hopkins - His Pavlikfight moved this up a spot - also his first real awayfight
Lacy - undefeated young and feared at the time (Calzaghe later admitted he was actually a bit scared going into that fight) + the way he won it. Compare how people tipped for the fights - then Lacy/Kessler are the best two wins.
Eubank - Calzaghe got the fight pretty early in his pro-career and won in a great style ... hard to tell how "old" Eubanks was - some say he was drained and he never proformed after that...
Reid - one of his closest fights - shouldn't have been as he is much better than Reid, but his tendency to sometimes go for the "fight" could have cost him. The rematch that never happened - also says something about Calzaghe/Warrens view on the Reid-fight - the rematch would have been a moneymaker i the UK.

Then it becomes harder - the rest a about the same and a very faded Jones ranks with them.
Mitchell, Woodhall, Jones, Sheika, Veit 1, Bika and Brewer

It's an over all not that impressive record especially considering his long reign as "worldchampion" ... he fought at home way too long and fought two of his best opponents too late to gain the full recognition for the wins. Problem is he can't do much about it anymore ... there aren't anyone left to beat that will move him up - Dawson being the best bid, but I have my doubts about him. A rematch with both Hopkins and especially Kessler would be dangerous and with little gain - although a Hopkins-rematch would proberbly pay well.

Oh HOF no doubt - ATG - sorry he might very well have been good enough, but just didn't do enough to earn that title...

Jones's old ass is only 3 years older than Calzaghe's

Roy is 39, Joe is 36. Big deal.

Kessler --- Heir apparent, undefeated, 50/50
Hopkins --- Old but nowhere near past it, followed with Pavlik Laceying
Lacy --- Few fighters can win all 2,160 seconds of a fight
Eubank --- Eubank was inactive but Joe was green and hadn't been more than 8 rounds before
Reid/Mitchell --- Should have been to unify the titles
Reid/Mitchell --- Should have been to unify the titles
Jones --- Would be much much lower (sub Bika) but for Jones' name

I don't think it ranks very high. But, then, again, I am not the only one. Too bad these fights couldn't have been made years ago.

It is as about as significant as Holmes beating Ali..
