    :huh whats your point?
I can just as easily say he fought on Sky sports which showed PBF vs SSM for free, Williams Cintron for free, Pac Cotto for free.

Whats your point? You dont like him because he didnt box on HBO or Showtime? :huh

I may be in the minority, but I like the idea of a comeback. For as much that Calzaghe gets dogged for lacking resume, he is good for boxing. He has a great fanbase and despite an ugly style, fights with a lot of heart in the ring.

I also think he does have something to prove.

Like what? 46-0 perfect record. He wont be going up in wieght to challange for a belt, thats too risky to his '0', so he will only either a) fight older shot guys he knows he can get andwill get slated for doing it or b) fight younger guys that might beat him who wouldnt have touched him in his prime

Not a bad plan, but I don't think Reid should be a part of it. Why not open up with Froch? No disrespect to Froch, but if JC can't beat him, even after the lay off, he wouldn't be able to carry on anyway.

I never said I didn't like him, pal. You claimed that Americans didn't like him because he was a home fighter and then you listed a few Americans who were home fighters. Well, they were home fighters because they were making big money on American network while they fought the best fighters in their division. Meanwhile, how much was Calzaghe making in Europe? Now, I know he made a lot at the end of his career, but how about before the Lacy win? He was making peanuts compared to guys like Roy Jones. Also, some Americans just don't respect the fact that Calzaghen never tried to fight the best fighters in their prime. Sure, we hear rumors about offers and negotiations, but Joe wasn't exactly chasing these guys, now was he? I like Joe...I watched 4 or 5 of his fights on Showtime and I appreciate his style. But his resume leaves an awful lot to be desired for a supposed ATG.

Why am I not surprised that the people who knock his resume don't want him to come back? If they were that concerned with Calzaghe being overrated, they should be wishing him back so he could get beat.

Could it be that his detractors are worried he might just keep winning and improve his legacy?

Right. Chad Dawson, an undefeated young fighter who has done a hell of a lot more than Calzaghe did by age 27 wouldn't have touched Joe. :patsch I'm not saying Chad Dawson would win, but I'll tell you one thing. Beating Chad Dawson would be Calzaghe's greatest win by far!

Ok who else could he have fought that would make MOST American appreicate him? Americans call him a eurobum for some reason and i dont get it. 46-0 is pretty impressive whatever way you look at it. Im not saying you dont like him, im saying most Americans dont. Yeah he probably wasnt making the money like RJJ, but i dont recall many of the US fighters publically calling him out until Lacy

As far as im concerned Joe was, and always has been, a SMW. ONly his last 2 fights were up at LHW. Im saying he WONT go up to fight Dawson as its too risky :huh

It's like ranks in the millitary. It's not a more popular fighters responsibility to call out a less popular fighter. Really, imagine Roy Jones calling out Joe whne he was in his prime. People would have said, "Joe who?" That's my only problem with Joe. He never went for it. Great fighters like Trinidad and Julio Caesar Chavez and Roberto Duran come to the States for two reason: one was money, of course, the other was because the best fighters in their division were from America. That was true for Calzaghe too. But he never called those guys out until they were all old men. I truly believe Joe missed his shot at greatness. And your wrong about Americans thinking he's a Euro bum. At least, not the Americans I know. They seem to share my sentiments. They think Joe was a very very good fighter, but not a great one.
