He didn't clown Bernard the way he was clowning Roy, he got his point across and went back at it, he didn't spend the entire fight making a spectacle of himself.

And I disagree; the Ali comparison is appropriate, as Ali in the Berbick fight was about as shot compared to what he was as Roy was in the Calzaghe fight.

    Hypocrite, yes, but 'complete idiot'?

No fight fan is gonna enjoy watching his favorite fighter beaten and humiliated.

I'm not voting on either option because I don't think it's incensitive or it's karma. It's part of the game and entertaining.

The main problem with it is that Calzaghe looks corny when he does it.

What goes around comes around, so I don't mind Roy being on the receiving end of it.

But when Roy showboated, he generally looked better doing it than Calzaghe.

Calzaghe's "shimmy" looks stupid as hell.

This is very true which was annoying the **** out of me although I don't like Roy's either. Each of them make a mockery of my sport when they do it.

  10. Before the fight, I was a the opposite of a fan towards Joe Calzaghe. His showboating and charisma in the fight made me a fan. The fight was very entertaining

Some of Roy's was okay, some of it I didn't like. I can't front, Roy's behind-the-back KO of Kelly was bad ass. Sometimes I think guys do it for psychological warfare, like what I think Calzaghe did in round 3, and that's perfectly understandable. The sport is both mental and physical.

But Joe still looks stupid when he does it.

STFU, you're the cripple. Mental cripple.

Personally, the showboating was a bit too much I thought.

It was fine. I think Calzaghe has had enough of being denigrated to second class behind these American immortals and wanted to make an obvious statement.

When jones did it is was "Wow, what an awesome fighter".

If that was the intent, it backfired IMO. He was taunting an ATG who was a shadow of his former self, akin to a Berbick clowning Ali or Joey Archer clowning SRR. It went to show that Roy is no longer what he once was, not what Calzaghe is and that IMO is exactly the opposite of his intent. It just emphasized that Roy is shot more than anything.

Your totally f*cked in the head if you think Calzghe is on the same level as Berbick. :rofl
