That's not at all what I was saying, and if that's how you took it then it was poor communication on my part or poor understanding on yours; the comparison was Roy being as shot as Ali was in the Berbick fight.
no way. ALi was brain damaged during the Berbick fight...well before it. Jones could still beat Clinton Woods.
You know what though, Ali still won a couple rounds. About as many as Roy won against Joe. Brain damaged or not he was about the same level of shot in that fight as Roy was in the Calzaghe fight.
So much hate for Calzaghe only because he humilliated those black fighters this is sad, you people are sick **** you.
I voted yes.... its up to the opponent to stop you in your tracks, if he cant then tough ****, its not chess we are playing here. :thumbsup
No, worse, far worse. Stay off the acid, Ali hardly thru a punch, Jones was in it til the end throwing good shots, he just got outworked by a man closer to his prime with better stamina & workrate. Its not rocket science.
Actually thinking further it was probably closer to Ali/Spinks, but the comparison remains the same, Ali was a shell of what he used to be and so was Roy.
By Joe's own admission he thought Roy was shot. With that in mind he knew that Roy couldn't pull the trigger anymore so it made it a little distasteful.
If Roy can do it joe can it, he did go OTT, he couldve stopped jones if he didnt **** about so much. if it was ok for roy to do it to tito then its ok for joe to do it for Roy...
It doesn't mean its okay it means they're both dicks. Roy really thought he was the man for beating Tito. Poor guy....
Showboating and taunting are two different things. Roy has always done it and let's be honest, he has done it well. I don't think it was done out of disrespect at all. The man has class, no doubt. Hamed, on the other hand, had no respect for his opponents and mercilessly taunted and degraded them during many of his fights. The jug-eared ****er had no class whatsoever, in my opinion. Anyway, as someone said earlier.....sensitivity has no place in boxing. It really is the pain game.
