Fighters seem to enter their primes only as yoiu haters see fit, or when it suits you or fits into your opinion.....well then hear this, I;ll make this work in my favor...Calzaghe was past prime when he fought jones and Hopkins, just like they were,, see, now it works in MY favor:bart :rofl
Yep you are right. Everyone else doesnt know boxing and you do. Its quite clear that Roy was the same when he fought Tito as when he fought Toney. It so clear. You are right, we are only hating on Calzaghe by pointing out the truth. Btw, you can get Calzaghe's nutsack off your lips now.
Yup, haters are always right...hmmmm one quote I recall " Calzaghe is in for a rude awakening" (posted prior to fight ) Yup, you haters have all the answers, you're hardly ever wrong and you are all man enough to admit if you are wrong.... :rofl
He earned KO victories in his next few fights followin that loss. He was upset with himself cause he knew he could've done more. But these fools are ******ed
I can't believe someone has persuaded you about that. But let's see: Roy Jones is SHOT. I know most Calzaghe fans get irritated when they see/hear this, but it's the truth if you have followed Roy's fights leading to the Calzaghe one. After Jones' brutal KO losses at the hands of Tarver and Johnson, he rematched Tarver... and lost a wide decision, managing to LOOK like the old Roy in just one round, the 5th one. After that he beat the decent but limited gatekeeper (at best), Prince Ajamu, he beat a "hot" prospect in Anthony Hanshaw (who right after that got KTFO by Andre Dirrell), and then he beat a blown-out and fat-looking Tito Trinidad, who fought about 20 pounds over his best weight and hadn't had a fight for almost three years. Not exactly what one would call a convincing comeback for good ol' Roy, eh? Now lets compare the two fights: - Hopkins scored a clear knockdown vs Joe, and managed to win at least 3 rounds, arguably 4 or 5. Jones didn't win a single round after the 1st one. - Calzaghe landed 344 punches vs Jones, and 232 vs Hopkins. That's 112 MORE punches landed. Also, Joe felt way more confident throwing punches vs Jones, as he threw nearly 1.000, as opposed to 700 vs Hopkins. - Calzaghe looked like he could knock Jones out anytime he wanted to after the 8th round. On the contrary, he wasn't sure if he had won the fight with Hopkins and looked nervous before the scorecards were finally announced. I'm not sure, but I think that the Hopkins fight was a little bit tougher than the Jones one for Calzaghe. :good
Who's ******ed?? I think Hopkins is great now, as was then, just not as much as you do........his last fight with Pavlik, he looked as sharp as ever.....so now what??
I agree in part with ya, but Joe was in much better condition vs Roy, and Roy DID admitt he was in great shape:hi:
Take away those first two rounds, & Joe put on a slapping clinic. This victory was nowhere near difficult
******ed is nalso being an idiot calling a guy calslappy...after seeing Jones' left eye, and no one ever did that....now calling Joe that, and just ******ed, it's FKN IGNORANT...horayyyy, you all win the prize ( for being dumb, ******ed, and ignorant,,,,ah yes, only haters can accomplish this :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl
Like your skin doesn't get weaker as you age. If Jones took punches from Toney & didn't cut, its only obvious he wouldn't cut from a slap.
1. Joe is ALWAYS in great condition, and there's no indication whatsoever he wasn't in shape for his first fight in the US against the very dangerous Hopkins. 2. What did you expect Jones to say? That he's in terrible condition? Cmon. We all have eyes, as you do. What did you see in that fight, a Roy Jones that was in great shape and close to his best that could be competitive against Joe, or just a shade of Roy's former self? If you're honest, you should say the latter. I am a big Jones fan and in no way a Calzaghe hater, as I have proved with my posts so far on ESB. But it was really SAD watching that version of Roy in that ring.
