Almost every part of Calzaghe's game is underrated because 1) he came out of nowhere for the general public that is always brainwashed in favor of the network-grown fighters and 2) due to his hand problems and unusual style, he was tagged 'slapper' and people refused to look beyond the way of fighting, again because there was not much of a hype, biased writing, commentary behind him and the (international) public didn't see him over long years.

People on this forum may not believe me, but I was one of the biggest Calzaghe haters around, I used to say **** like "you could walk through that pussies punches..." but when you actually analyze the guy and watch him, he was a fantastic fighter. I freely admit he should have went to America much sooner, but regardless, in terms of talent he was amazing.
