    no he didn't.

ottke arguably lost to a couple of guys joe beat...& did actually beat. that DOES make a difference.

as opposed to ottke...who won his 2nd belt in his 5th from last fight. :huh

ottke's level of oppostion measured over their entire careers is lower than calzaghe's. or are you forgetting that ottke faced tocker pudwill too? :hey

Nice retort. If you feel like looking at the ring rankings to prove it, have at it. It's not like isn't common knowledge.

"Arguably lost" in a sport with subjective judging doesn't leave much to be desired. And I agree that Ottke should have lost. But many seem to think Robin reid beat Joe C. So....

True. WHich is why i put the strength on ring ranked fighters. And Ring has the most consistently and best rankings so far.

Just sayin it again doesn't do anything to help. Look, I'm nmot trying to suggest it's light years ahead of Joe's, just a tad better at 168.

But all that went against whomever said Joe C was the standard bearer for 168. He simpy wasn't because he hadn't really done anything to seperate himself, other then a bunch of defenses against opponents who went on to do nothing in their careers.

Fact of the matter is, both Ottke and Joe C were doing the same thing at the same time, in the same division. Looks bad for BOTH guys in the long run.

so brewer, mitchell, reid, mundine & johnson is better than brewer, mitchell, reid, kessler, lacy & eubank (not including b-hop & rjj)?

    **** off it is.

tbh watch the reid/jc fight. you'd have to be mental to score that to reid. reid on the other hand was "unlucky" in many many ways against ottke.

ring rankings are bollocks. & i refuse to believe that ottke faced more ring top 10 ranked boxers anyway.

mundine, mitchell, brewer, reid, larson, tate. 5. any more?

brewer, mitchell, reid, woodhall, kessler, lacy, manfredo...

    sorry but you're talking bollocks.

    it's not.

calzaghe seperated himself by winning every belt at the weight & proving he was the dominant champion in the division...before moving up in weight & facing the ring 175 champion & the ring ranked no.6 at 175.

they did the same thing...then calzaghe went on & did much much more. :deal

Only an irrational fanboy could say anything other than that this is a terrible resume for a guy who held a world title for what, 11 years? His opposition from 1997-2006, most specifically from 1999-2005, was absolutely shocking.
