and he was old then. victorious, but still old. he's been old for ten years. he's just that good. calzaghe knew that, that's why he didn't rematch

I like how you missed Brewer and Mitchell off your list. We all know guys like Eubank, Veit, Bika and others were top 10 as well. Technically Mayweather won't be top 10 against Ortiz. Who really cares what ring mag think anyway? Boxing News and Boxing Monthly are better anyway imo.

A rematch would have been even clearer in Calzaghe's favour seeing as he would'nt have been fighting abroad, wouldnt have Joe Cortez as referee, would have been more acclimatised to the weight. I mean if Hopkins cant even beat a guy with broken hands who cut corners in his training during the build up what an earth makes you think he would prevail in a proposed rematch at the Millenium stadium, its not as if he was winning anything significant from the fourth round onwards because Joe had worked him out.

The arguement is flawed seeing as the ratings are coming from an American magazine, meaning no disrespect but that will always look favourably on the American based fighters.

you think you had good facts? your response is like a fighter that's been knocked out but still claiming victory. i hope you're not an attorney with the arguments you give.

Phailey is one of the most ridiculous, delusional ****s on this board. to this day, he still counts Jones Jr. as a big win for Joe C. And why? Jones was ranked #6 at LtHW. By Ring...the 'biased' american mag.

I've called him out on his inconsistencies on fighters and rankings, or his hypocritical outlook on how Americans are biased, not him... but he just ignores it. It's as if he has a mental condition. these Joe C Fanboys really live in an entirely different reality. All while acting like smug ****s. It's quite the train wreck. :yep

Dubace will never get over the
fact that Calzaghe beat Hopkins . Live with it ****
They are very good facts because you havent found a counter :patsch
You have just self pwned as if you claim Jones was so shot, so then you agree that the Rings ratings can be bias :yep. Self pwned . C#nt :patsch.
Just for the record since Jones lost to Calzaghe he has looked unlucky not to score a KO over Hopkins as Jones landed a punch that put Hopkins down and Hopkins couldnt continue for a while saying the punch was on the back of the head. Remember also that in Jones last fight against world rated CW Lebedev, Jones was ahead on one card whilst fighting away in Russia. Forgot to mention that part .
Uttercunt you are so stupid, I walk you into traps while you believe you are setting them :hi:.

Lets have another little look at these facts

    After Eubanks fight with Calzaghe

    1. Frankie Liles*, 31-1, WBA champ
    2. Joe Calzaghe* (Britain), 23-0, WBO champ
    3. Robin Reid (Britain), 25-0-1, WBC champ
    4. Joseph Kiwanuka (Uganda), 25-1-2

Brewer you note who also wasnt coming off a loss

Mitchell you note, but you dont note how Mitchell was coming off a SD loss to Ottke which was very debateable.

Mkertchyan did enter into the ratings after his KO win of the undefeated European SMW champ 26-0 J Chanet

    Ashira was rated at MW

So if you work out how many fighters were top 10 rated and how many became top 10 rated after Calzaghe beat them he fought 22 SMW title fights and 15 were or became top 10 rated. I havent included Ferreyra who had been top 10 rated before fighting Calzaghe

15 out of 22 at SMW, Thats very good :smooch but even better when you note Calzaghes LHW career, because as a career total it becomes

Now we could say Ward beat Kessler coming off a loss to Calzaghe but that wouldnt be strictly true.
But we could say Ward beat Abraham coming off 2 very clear S6 losses and Green had lost to Miranda

    Enjoy :good

After Reid came back with a win and Malinga lost Reid was rated higher than you note when Calzaghe beat him
1: Joe Calzaghe* (Britain), 26-0, WBO champ
2: Frankie Liles*, 32-1, WBA champ
3: Richie Woodhall (Britain), 25-1, WBC champ

Same as Woodhall, as Beyer who beat Woodhall was KOd by Woodhall victim Catley

3: Bruno Girard (France), 38-2-1, WBA
