Calzaghe laid the blue print on how to beat Kessler first and foremost & Calzaghe fought a better version. Now I'm not taking anything away from Ward's win because he deserves a lot of credit but did Calzaghe beat Kessler with the big factor of using his head instead of his fists? No. Ward out fought Kessler last night and was winning the fight clearly but to say the head butts had no impact would be laughable because they played a huge part and clearly the cuts because of them put Kessler at a disadvantage.

Take away the headbutts and put Ward in against the Kessler who fought Calzaghe, who was active, not like the Kessler who has recently been inactive against good opposition and you might get the same outcome which would be a Ward win, but the fight would have been much closer there can be no disputing that. Styles make fights, and Ward has Kesslers number just like Calzaghe did. Kessler is still a top Super Middleweight so lets not take anything away from all three fighters.
