Joe won about 7-5 or so...and anyone is beatable depending on styles..a perfect example is IF Ali never fought Foreman, and after Ali went thru hell with Frazier, the Foreman bagged him with ease, eveyone on here now woukd say that Ali would get killed by Foreman, cause look how he beat Frazier...hmm:patsch

If clinton woods didnt freeze he was 50/50 with tarver. Woods even showed a couple of times he could get to Tarver in what was an awful performance from woods.
If joe got in the ring with tarver its a UD for joe.

The only two 175ers out there who can push Calzaghe are Dawson and Glen Johnson. I'd expect Calzaghe to outspeed and outclass Johnson, but Dawson would give him hell. Still, I've changed my prediction now to a Joe UD.

This excludes Kessler, because I think he is more complete than any of the above.

What last night showed us was that Calzaghe remains an elite fighter at the higher weightclass, yes two things also were apparent: 1) His reflexes are slipping and 2) He didn't gain power with the added weight.

But of course he is beatable.

I think he'd beat Johnson 8-4 and Dawson 7 to 5, maybe Dawson and Joe would score a KD a piece also.:yep

Agreed, if Kessler can get his **** in gear, I think he'll beat everybody they put in front of him.

Agreed again, his 175 H2H stock in the all time sense dropped massively for me, but I'm glad I found out new things about my favourite fighter.

I still have him over Hopkins close prime for prime, neither of them were prime in there, it'd probably be the same fight with people bitching about the decision both ways had it happened around 2000.

    :|

The Calzaghe express is soon to meet it's final destination, it's been a great ride and turned out much better than we were expecting(longtime fans), due to how his career went south in the early 2000's....:good

Amsterdam, how much longer do you think Calzaghe can fight at a 'supernatural' level?

    It's clear he's no longer a supernatural.:|

But he's still elite and can enhance that resume for his fans arguments!:D

Roy Jones is a great threat to Calzaghe because he hits very hard and has insane handspeed. Joe is a speed guy but even 40 year old Jones is faster than him.

I thought joe beat Hopkins, but Jones has always been a level above Hopkins in terms of talent.

maybe handspeed, but joe is way more mobile and consistent at this stage in their careers.

I don't think you need a smarter fighter than Hopkins to beat Calzaghe. Just someone who is a terrific puncher who won't be easily swayed by Joe's slapping style.

Lacy for all of his strengths didn't have a very straight sharp right hand. And that ultimately was his downfall against Joe. You have to have a good straight powerpunch to beat Joe because that's what he's vunerable to when he's stepping in and throwing those flurries.

I would LOVE to see Pavlik get a crack at Joe. Or even Miranda for that matter. Both of those guys have the sort of straight hard powerpunching ability that could get the job done. And both are seemingly tough as nails.

Joe is definitely past his prime and has been for a while. He is still a great fighter but anyone who has followed his career can tell you he's not the same as he once was. Unfortunately much of his prime was spent outside of the limelight especially in the US. Even with the Lacy fight he wasn't at his physical peak. I hope that Joe can get a couple more big fights while he still has something left in the tank and retire with his 0 intact

Calzaghe is lucky there are no other A guys out there, closest was Dawson but I
don't know anymore after his last fight. He will probably beat like 2 or 3 top named fighters and retire.
