Watch his pre-Rosario fights where he hits his real talented period where he chose to mix it up. His straights and right hook were serious power punches. His right hook was his real power punch according to his first trainer.

Now, that being said I'll always give a little sideways glare towards Camacho's whole career because I wish he stayed hard at training and stayed committed to one great trainer. He dropped off so fast, but somehow was able to parley winning streaks into "megafights" against Trinidad, Chavez, Leonard (I hesitate a little to put that in there). What an enigma of the boxing scene.

Oh, and to comment on what Leonard thought of Camacho: Leonard, the egomaniac's egomaniac, saw Camacho and he was jealous. Listen to any Leonard commentary on Camacho up to (and including) the Edwin Rosario fight. Sugar Ray is in awe. He can't believe it and can't stand it. To Ray, Camacho had more speed, accuracy, and ability. I bet you any money Ray was sizing up Hector everytime he saw him during his stronger days, but he just couldn't pull the trigger to take such a match. It explains their late matchup a lot more. Sugar Ray wanted to prove something in attempting to beat Camacho. Instead that never happened, and when it did the match was way too late. Wasn't Camacho on the "seniors tour" by age 26?

Camacho fought at 130 when Leonard was in his 147 lb prime. The match-up never made any sense.

When Leonard made his comeback at age 40, he claimed he was insulted that Camacho had won a robbery over Duran and that he would avenge it in order to sell the fight. The real reason was because Camacho seemed like a safe opponent at 160 with little punching power and size. Leonard however had not fought in 7 years and was horribly rusty and fragile so badly that almost any trained pro fighter would have beaten him that night.

I don't think it was as much about Leonard being jealous as it was that he appreciated the skill and speed Camacho brought. He admitted that Camacho was faster than him but then again Camacho was also a lot smaller.
