Now 140 obviously wasnt Camacho's best weight, but he was still good at this weight, and was pretty impressive at 140 when he beat Davis. Both are blindinly fast, Judah obviously has more power, but Hector is the better skilled and more disiplined boxer. Who wins?

Camacho by a large margin...By this point I am not sure he could score a KO even on the overhyped judah...But after a competitive round or 2, Camacho runs away with it.

I think I agree. Zab isnt used to fighting a guy with better handspeed than himself, and Camacho was definitely the superior technician, and had much better stamina. For the most part I see him outboxing Zab, wouldnt be surprised if he scored a KD on Judah.

This is talking about the 87 Camacho. The early 90's Camacho that struggled with Haugen, I give Zab a chance against.. as Hector's speed had declined by that point.

Good matchup. Judah had a lot of power and speed at his best. He went down hill mentally quickly in boxing, especially after leaving Main Events and the whole Tsyzu debacle, but Judah at his best would beat Camacho at his best in my opinion. Camacho was quick but Judah was quicker and punched harder.

Ive been a lifelong Judah fan, but Zab was NOT faster than Camacho. The circa 83-87 Camacho was a ****in blur.

Different kind of speed. Camacho was fast on his feet too. Judah was very explosive and fast as a boxer puncher, especially when he was finishing an opponent when had them hurt.

I think when faced with Camacho's movement, Zab would find it hard to get off in combination. Zab had VERY fast hands, but not like Camacho.

I think when talking the fastest hands of all time, it comes down to either Camacho, Taylor, or Jones.

I think Camacho would have started fast, and probably would have decked Judah in the first or second. Hector would have had a lead that he would have protected from then on out as Judah would have warmed to the task and would have managed to land some pretty good shots himself in the mid rounds of 5 thru 8, however Camacho was sooo fast , and wasn't interested at all in proving his valor, so he would have been strictly on maintenance mode from then on thru 12 and would have won a decision. It would have been somewhat similar to Zab's fight with Mayweather, in that Camacho was a shade or two above him in every department except maybe for one shot power. Hector wouldn't have been tempted to come out into the open, and would have held whenever Zab got too personal.

Different kind of speed??? Not sure I agree, Judah was very quick, but I don't see him in the realm of Camacho (who I personally don't like).... Junior Witter, maybe Judahs best display of boxing or Millet his best show of power over a good name (not great). I don't see how his speed would affect Hector, or his power camacho fared well against men more powerful than Judah.

That wasnt the best Zab in the Mayweather fight. Im talking pre Tsyzu. Camacho's speed would have offset some of Zabs combination punching, but Camachos lack of punching power would have allowed Judah to get closer and closer as the fight progressed. I just remember Camacho dinging and dinging Chavez and it did nothing, but cost him a horrendous beating when he had to actually stand and fight a bit. Zabs chin wasnt the greatest, but Camacho couldnt crack an egg.
Camacho was a tremendous fighter, but Zab to me is one of the biggest wastes of talent. He could have been a lot better fighter than he turned out to be.

Pre-Tszyu Zab fought none near as close to the level of Camacho. And no, the fraud Junior Witter doesnt count.

And how are you gonna say Zab was past his past when he fought Floyd, then bring up the Chavez fight? Hector was waaay past his prime in the Chavez fight. And regardless, Zab cant carry Chavez's jock.

Bottom line... Zab has NOTHING over Camacho except power. But Hector's chin was granite. Camacho was faster, a better boxer, had a better defense, and had alot more ring intelligence. Zab had tremendous talent, but he's always been an idiot in the ring, who got by more on athletic talent, rather than skills. Whereas Camacho was alot more technically sound.

Mentally he was not the same really, and yes that is a big part of the sport and a major flaw of Zab's, but the potential was there. He had fought tough work horses like Mickey Ward and Terron Millet, and speedy boxers like Bergman and Wittier. He showed some good overall skills. I think your overating Camacho a bit, but thats ok, your entitled to your opinion. I think if Judah would have stayed with Duva and their management and trainers Roger Bloodworth and Ronnie Shields, etc who he worked with in the gym, he would have accomplished a lot more in his career. His father bought into that whole ghetto persona. At 140 he was a huge puncher.

I'm not overrating Camacho. You just cant compare guys like Bergman, Millet, and Witter to Camacho.

At 140 Zab had legit pop, but nothing like an Edwin Rosario. I dont see his power doing much to Hector. With Duva or not, Camacho had better skills than Judah.

I respect your opinion but that fight wasnt at 140, besides were talking about an awkward southpaw that punched in explosive combinations, you cant compare that to Rosario either.
Zab faced some pretty slick guys, taller, heavier and that punched much harder than Camacho and he did fairly well against them, so I think its a good competitive fight. Camacho did well against one dimensional forward coming fighters because of his skills, unless he was overpowered.
I wasnt a huge fan of Zabs, but the guy had tremendous talent early on. He idolized Whitaker in the beginning of his career, and was developing a nice style that complimented his power and Peas elusiveness, working with Pea in the gym under Main Events. Thats what Im talking about things could have been different for him.

Doesnt make a differance. Rosario had the power of a welterweight, and hit harder than Judah. Like I said before, I used to be a HUGE Judah fan, and I still like him.. but he just wasnt on the level of Camacho. He had the POTENTIAL to be more than what he was I agree, but he never got there.

And Camacho only did well against one dimensional fighters? I disagree. Once again I cited the Camacho from the Howard Davis fight. Davis was fast as all hell, past his prime when Macho fought him, but still wasnt far removed for drawing with Taylor. Camacho shut Davis out, and made him look slow.

Pressure was the way to beat Camacho, intelligent pressure. Zab wasnt that type of fighter. He was a guy who like Hector rellied on his speed. But in this fight Judah would NOT be the faster of the two.
