Haugen barely edged Camacho in fight # 1, but Camacho was better prepared and won fight # 2 by a point or two........ Haugen tested + for weed after fight # 1 and was stripped of his bogus WBO 140 lb. title belt...... The bout was ruled a "No Contest." So fight # 2 was for the vacant belt..... Camacho won the rematch.......... MR.BILL
I actually thought that Camacho just edged both...but then he always made me laugh so I was biased towards him!!!:good
I agree with the decision in the 1st fight...it was that close that Camacho's final round indescretion cost him dearly, but I have no problem with the scoring in the rematch..but I think Haugen proved to be a troublesome foe for Hector.
I'm not so sure that Vinny Paz won the "Rubber" fight against Haugen in 1990 at 140 pounds......... I care LESS what the announcers said during the dull encounter....... Haugen was the presser, while Paz was the runner with slapping punches that couldn't bust an egg........... I'd have liked to have seen a draw there.............. Paz was NOT impressive in fight # 3.... MR.BILLbbb:rasta
I'm sure I've scored Camacho-Haugen II for Hector by a few points, but I can't find my card. As to their first fight: 114-114 Draw Haugen: 1,4,5,10,11 and 12. Camacho: 2,3 ( 10-8 ), 7,8 and 9. Round 6 even.
Had Vinny by a point in the third, thought he boxed very well by his standards. Now the first fight, that was definitely Haugen's (and the second of course which was a schooling).
Decided to re-watch it and scored it 114-113 for Camacho. Again Camacho got deducted a point, this time in the 11th (don't really think he should have been deducted a point, it was a pretty innocuous incident) and so it was a one-point affair. Camacho: 1,2,3,4,5,7 and 8. Haugen: 6,9,10,11 ( 10 -8 ) and 12. I think rounds 2 and 4 were close to even rounds, and you could argue them as such.
Always liked Haugen..and he did school Paz in that 2nd fight, and I enjoyed that no end. Haugen was a smart fighter who did a great job of following a good strategy in beating Jimmy Paul over 15, and was good in the fundamentals for a guy with no real punch or anything, but the thing I remember the most about him was his mouth..what funny **** he could say!!! The only time I've ever like trash talking was when he went at it with Pazienza, that pompous bag of ****. Grg's smart mouth was his undoing against Chavez, however, and I wonder how much better off he would have been had he not pissed off Julio so much. That was painful to watch as Greg wa s made into the ritual "gringo pinata" to be sacrificed.
Greg was a great **** talker and a funny bloke generally. I love how he had the balls to come out to Springsteen's 'Born in the U.S.A' when fighting Julio at Azteca Stadium
I may be biased, but after round 6 it's all Greg for me in the first fight, still scoring he second tho.
