Camacho Sr. of course. How do yu think Pac would've done against this excellent boxer who also had speed and power?
machooo time. macho by SD . umm or not. Honestly I don't know. Macho was really slick in his prime. He was impossible to KO, and he would not KO Manny so it would end in decision most likely. Interesting match up nonetheless.
This is NOT a question for the General Forum, most of whom think Pacquiao is God at every weight class he's fought at based mostly on his latest performance, and who've never seen a prime Camacho and mostly just think of him as the older, slower, low workrate runner that was beaten up by guys like Chavez, De La Hoya, and Trinidad from 140 and up. I think a young, peak Camacho (who'd have a clear speed advantage, even over Pacquiao) would've been a very difficult stylistic matchup for him, or at 130 for that matter. His superior hand and footspeed, southpaw stance (which would rule out any edges Pacquiao would normally hold) and top notch jab would allow him to outbox Pacquiao for the majority of the fight, and his ability to fight off the backfoot and counter (often with his blazing combinations) would give Pacquiao troubles getting set or having any prolonged success. Pac didn't have the one punch power of a guy like Rosario either, he'd need to land in succession and often to really hurt Camacho or put him on the defensive IMO, especially the younger, less complacent version of Hector. Would be a competitive fight, no doubt about it, and I don't think Pacquiao would be devoid of his big moments, but I don't think he'd be able to outbox Macho Man or land often enough on a fighter who holds advantages over him that he'd usually hold over his opponents. Camacho by UD, maybe a closer one if Pacquiao does manage to hurt him at some point.
You think Manny looks fast up here....Macho would make him look sluggish in comparison. Im not going to make a pick though...Im going to try and refrain from making picks for fantasy matchups with Manny in them at these higher weights until his career is over..Right now he hasnt proved enough but I think in time he will.
See, I'm with yu cause I've seen a primed Camacho at work. I especially like the E. Rasario reference. I remember watchin' that fight and bitchin' at the guy for not bein' more active. He stunned Hector (in the 4th. if I remember, right? ...gotta go back and watch it again-been a long time) pretty good and I thought he could have won. But yeah, Camacho was never stopped-and I wouldn't see this happenin' any different. The fight goes to the cards in Camacho's favor. wouldn't be shocked by an SD though.
there handspeed was about even, power to Pac, ring generalship to Pac, heart Pac, boxing ability Camacho....i got Pac
