Was there ever any discussion on these two ever fighting at some point in their careers?

So prime for prime who would have won at:

    135?
    140?
    147?

    Vote.

140 and 147, Whitaker all the way. Might be interesting at 135 though.

Sweet Pea at all 3, although I think Camacho's speed and counterpunching pizazz would make it tough at 135.

Can't help but favor Whitaker though. I can see macho outpointing him though, these high speed chess matches are always a ***** to call

Whitaker beats him at any weight.

Pea was just a better fighter, simple as that. It might have been interesting at 135 but I just see Pea out-jabbing Camacho and clearly beating him whenever they fight on the inside.

I agree @ 135lbs would have been something P4P. (Prime)

I think Camacho is really over rated. Whitaker would smash him

At 135 it would be a very close fight Comacho was in his prime at that time and he had great skils but Whitaker still pulls it off imo

Definitely not, But "Smash" implies KO.
And as far as I remember Hector's chin was pretty solid.

Unfortunatly Camacho was @ his peak right around the time Whitaker was winning gold in the Olympics. Prme for prime @ lightweight would have been fantastic, could go either way.

Sorry.. didn't mean KO... just meant beat him up. I know Camacho had a good chin and Pernell wasn't the biggest hitter but i think it would be a beat down.

I shall use 'smash' differently from now on
