Considering Nate complained of spots blocking his vision, I'd say his decision was rational and smart. Cotto fought bravely with a horrendous cut that was profusely leaking into he eye but at least he could still see. Nate was blinded and thus shouldn't be thrown under the bus for not continuing under such extreme circumstances.

I'm at 8 when he counts him out. Definitely a fast count. That said, if Nate hadn't acted like a ******, he would have never even been down.

    Wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was BRADLEY that acted like a little schoolgirl yelling " I'll never give him a rematch" Bradley knows full well ref Mendoza screwed up there is no disputing it. For once the Ca commission have done the right thing Its about time after some of the shady dealings theyve been party to lately.
If Bradley wants to claim a win over Nate that way he has gone way down big time in my book as both a fighter & a man:bbb:bbb

Only in hindsight was Nate Campbell aware of the extent to his injuries, at the time of the stoppage, one he called for, he was bowing out because the fight was stacked against him. He wasn't thinking, "Damn, I have a vitreous hemorrhage". He was most likely thinking, "This young kid is winning the fight, he has the momentum, and now I have a cut sustained by a headbutt. If I bail now, it's ruled a no contest and I can have a better shot at winning in a rematch". He quit.

Miguel Cotto, in my opinion, at the time of the cut had more reason to bow out of the fight than Nate Campbell did. Miguel Cotto, instead of quitting, carried on and braved through like warriors of the squared circle are expected too. I'm not disputing the fact that Nate Campbell made the right decision, I'm saying he made the decision for the wrong reasons.

Nate Campbell was so concerned about getting medical treatment that he spent 30 minutes shouting at everyone in the ring once the decision was announced. Campbell was not as concerned about long term damage as much as he was about avoiding a loss. Miguel Cotto had a worse injurt suffered by a headbutt, and he braved through it. You're talking like Nate knew the extent of his injury, and that was what drove him to bow out. Not true in my estimation.

I just rewatched it and my count was pretty on point with the referee but you could be right... The thing is don't showboat, get dropped, and ***** to the ref... That whole round he was asking for it, throwing bodyshots with both hands down..

Nobody is going to throw Nate under a bus, but considering how his career has gone, he'd probably run into traffic himself.

I'm not questioning the extent of his injury, I am questioning his reasons for stopping the fight at the time he did. If he was so concerned about his state at that point, he'd have gone to hospital, rather than spend a further 30 minutes arguing with everyone in the arena. He's a drama queen is Nate.

Its a good decision in my book.. Im also far from sure that Bradley would have won. Looked like a close fight until Bradley saw blood and turned up the output.. Nates crafty though who knows how it would have played out, in no way did I feel Bradley was dominating, also seemed to be using a lot of energy.. Reamtch is needed.

When you consider adrenalin and emotion then is it so unreasonable to see why he didn't just immediately vacate the arena and head to the hospital? Clearly he was upset at the incompetence of the ref who neglected to properly acknowledge the butt as the attributing blow that caused the cut and he was understandably upset. I suppose you also frowned upon Paulie's post fight rant?

It's good the fight was changed to a no contest but a rematch would probably be the same with Nate getting beaten by Bradley.
