IBF #1 rated junior welterweight Nate Campbell has been arrested on felony charges of armed burglary of a dwelling with assault, false imprisonment and tampering with a witness plus a misdemeanor charge of battery. Campbell was arrested by Hillsborough County Sheriff officers on September 27 allegedly after an altercation with his girlfriend and is currently being held with no bond at the Falkenburg Road Jail in Tampa. He is next scheduled to appear on court on Wednesday. That's some pretty serious **** he got himself into. I always thought he seemed like a pretty clean guy. Campbell is already in his mid 30s, so it looks like his career is finished if he gets convicted. The winner of Diaz-Diaz was supposed to fight Campbell, so with him gone, this sets up Pacquiao-Diaz pretty nicely.
I really like this guy too. Heard he had to pull out of a fight recently. Probably looked to crime for a quick cash fix. atsch
I have always liked Nate Campbell, he got the shaft against a prime Casamayor. But has been up and down since then, recently he is back up. He seemed like a pretty good guy, I hope this is not true.
This was a "domestic" situation that got blown out of proportion by the arresting officers. No charges have been filed by the DA yet.
Domestic or not Felony charges are nothing to scoff at and really cant be stated as being blown out of proportion. He was arrested with no bail. Though no charges have been formally stated the DA does have a period of time to press the charges. Even if it is blown out of proportion remember the DUke Lacross scandal? Those charges were truely bown out of proportion and compeletly fabricated but it didnt change the fact that those kids lost 1 year of athletics. Yes they got it back with another year of eligibility but it would not be a stretch to state that Nate can not afford a year off. Blown up maybe serious definetly!

We had a hearing this morning, and after reviewing additional information the judge released Nate on his own recognizance. He will be out in a few hours......
