The WBO will announce tomorrow that due to his refusal to sign a bout agreement to face WBO/IBF/WBA champion Nate Campbell, Interim champion Joel Casamayor has been stripped of his title, as well as his status as mandatory challenger. Former WBO 130 champion Joan Guzman will be appointed as the new mandatory challenger to Campbell's title. Team Campbell is already in preliminary discussions with representatives for Guzman, and potential dates for the fight incluce August 2, August 9, and Sept 6.
I am the "source" lol And as for your prediction, if you'd like to put any action on that, just let me know......
So it looks like Cambell vs Guzman and Casa vs JMM. Good for boxing . . . good for the fans. :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy
28 have tried, and 28 haven't even got close. soon that will be 29, i can't believe most people think campbell is a top fighter, he is decent at best, j.diaz was just an overhyped fighter. guzman is the real deal.
Campbell is an absolute bad ass!! he will fight anybody anywhere! did you guys hear his plans? he wants to fight casamayor, marquez, pac, katsidis, khan, one after the other!
Juan diaz overhyped? if you dont get hype when you unify a division then i dont know when you should.
when you've established yourself, when you deserve it, when has a win over julio diaz counted for anything. maybe when you've proved that you can fight with the best, and beat the best, and not got beat by mediocur fighters like campbell, then you can have a bit of hype.
We boxing fans have been blesses this year with great matchups this year and so many events. Cotto V Marg Manny V JMM PBF retiring and now this news with two super matches that might be maid. Cant ****ing wait to watch Marquez fight again.
But wins over Barrios (which was a one point split decision in case you forgot) and the 1 dimensional Soto make Guzman "established"?? lol. ok........
