His record is so bad aswell. It’s a shame really as there will never be any value in backing him to lose ever again
Making 130 at 6 days notice when you've only had 6 fights in 7 years prior to that, then bossing your far more prepared opponent to the point that you're countering him and then dancing, "Sonny" deserves some respect for that, regardless of how bad Campbell is.
The blame has to go Eddie Hearn/Matchroom for putting him on these big cards and the incompetent judges for giving him the win when he clearly lost. I put the majority of the blame on Ricky Hatton and his brother Matthew. They should be saying to Eddie, we want to build him up first properly and let him hone his skills and we don't think he's ready to be on big shows. Instead Campbell has ended up signing with Matchroom Boxing, ended up signing with 258 Management (Why???) he's got Matchroom Marketing to polish up his social media profiles and make little promo videos of him as if he's some sort of killer in the ring and he's going through the Matchroom Boxing conveyor belt but without the skills/knowledge/experience/maturity required to be able to complete. Everyone seems to be, on the face of it, eating a piece of Campbell Hatton's financial pie whilst he's getting shown up live on TV and that stinks more to me than anything. Matchroom, 258, Hatton bros. I feel sorry for Campbell more than anything. It's not his fault at all.
I understand what you're saying to a point, but even Hearn said nobody should feel sorry for Campbell because he is getting opportunities some would give a left testicle for... (that's a quote, give a left testicle ) Campbell can't have it both ways, he has to pay a price, you can't have the profile, the interviews, the puff pieces, the promos, the stage and most importantly the Money.. And then turn around and say "people shouldn't expect so much.." You either don't get all that and go away and learn your trade or you get all that and don't complain when people are upset watching you 4th on the bill of a huge PPV card getting an outrageous a gift of a decision.
i reckon wicky advised him on the tweet speculation obviously not a good look full of entitlement ring a bell
Martinez is on IG btw under the account name Sonny_Urugayo. I dropped a comment on his post about the fight letting him know that I enjoyed his performance, think it’s worthwhile doing it. A proper fighter who travelled down after being handpicked to get knocked out really and putting on a really good performance. I’ve given him a follow too.
I doubt Edward 'Sucker for a sob story' Hearn appreciated Reclusive Anthony talking out of turn to him in such a brusque manner.
Conor Benn gets lots of stick on here, from myself included, but at least he started on the NXTGEN / small hall shows and gradually progressed.
Hearn, on IFL, saying that Sky Sports wanted to have Hatton so deep in the card. Well, it's Eddie who wants to have Hatton on these big cards anyway, so... Though, I'm happy the fight was on before co-main, as now more people saw the robbery.
