Do you think mid argument with his wife he says "listen I just want to be left alone" If his wife is a savage she'd come back with "I'm not Kugan"
I might further explain what stuff if there is enough $ one might get, be he am or a pro. Trainer or even till head trainer and 2 other trainers in team. S/C coach and fitness trainer, available massage therapist with degree and diplomas, exp and references & certs , physio therapist, nutritionist and sport doctor. Sparring: to get really very good partners, some connections and $ is necessity. This is handling level some xx ams not only pros might had get. If compare this alone with part time pro boxers, especially if journeymans? If someone might get elite level handling, this alone is happiness.
Not impressed with the lad. Even the way he was speaking after the fight, he was raised silver spoon level rich but is trying to sound "working class" like his dad used to.
Could tell that in the first promo vid Matchroom did for him. 'My names Campbell Hatton and I'm from Manchestohhhh'
The problem for Campbell Hatton is that he doesn't look very endearing, does he? You don't look at him and think "he's a nice lad", if you saw him out, with that face, those eyes, the way his eyebrows sit, you'd think "this little toerag is going to be a nuisance". If I was making a film about football hooligans he'd be typecast, just have him in the background, the angry little guy. The same for Conor Benn, there's no redeeming features with these lads, they're just little rich kids, there's no decent backstory, they're just little rich kids of former World Champions who were both guilty themselves of being prats at times. I was only a kid but I quite enjoyed seeing Nigel Benn getting smashed about, Hatton I wasn't so fussed with but I liked seeing Benn staggering around looking helpless. Both Ricky and Nigel were obviously brilliant fighters from tough backgrounds so that was their redeeming features but these kids, no, I just look forward to the day when they get battered and the train derails.
Couldn't have put it any better. I became a Eubank fan the day he put Benn down but at least had some respect for Benn since he'd had a life, had his problems and ultimately fought his way out. The Benn and Hatton (and Eubank) kids are just up their own backsides.
I try not to follow boxing outside of the fights too much, these days. The bull**** politics, the endless mismatches, and the crap that many fighters come out with is just too much. I just concentrate on watching the fights. Saying that, it is hard to ignore Conor Benn's personality. He comes across as an absolutely unredeeming, arrogant, gobshite.
