Hatton got beat on Saturday, however what do you expect him and his team to be saying? Yeah I’m not really that good and only got the decision cause of my dad? Almost every good fighter (and those inbetween) has had the rub of the green, amateur or pro. AJ got it a few times in the 2012 Olympics. Pacman deserved to lose at least one of the 3 Marquez fights that went the distance. Tim Bradley and Jeff Horn both got decisions against Pac-Man. Tyson Fury got the nod against John McDermott. Ricky Burns got a draw against Beltran. It happens. I’m not saying it’s right, because its not and there something wrong in every single one of these bouts that clearly go to the other person. But the individual and their team is not going to say that even if deep down they know it. Can you imagine the prefight press conferences if boxers were like that - “Andy, how are you going to retain your titles vs AJ?” “I’m probably not mate, I won the lottery winning the first fight and I’m getting a few quid for this one too so I’ve not even bothered to train to be honest.”
They could just say nothing, a dignified silence, take it on the chin, ignore the comments, nobody is forcing them to read them, then get back to work on all of the things that went wrong because they have the luxury of time and facilities to do that. It's not like Campbell is back at work now is it, struggling to pay the bills and support his two year old. He's out with his family on the beers watching Man City get done. Easy life, Saturday was proof that it was all too easy. If you want this career you have to take the rough with the smooth.
Most boxers do there education with 0 coverage, having to flog tickets to keep their heads above water, and work a full time job. If he wants the luxury of a big contract (at this stage of his career) and coverage on the biggest fight of the year. Then expect feedback from customers who paid a pony to watch you fight like a low level white collar boxer
If BBBoC were doing their job Marcus McDonnell would be suspended. But sadly they're as bad as the rest and i fully expect to see Marcus appear on the next ppv - unless he's still on his luxury cruise paid for with his "earnings" from Saturday's fight.
Hearn might be deluded enough to think that in a few years Hatton will be a PPV fighter but that's never going to happen cause he's no good. I don't think he can be engineered to a British Title shot nevermind a world. They can't find a anybody bad enough to give him a knockout. He's the worse 'prospect' I've ever seen.
Those PPV Mugths paid £250 each to watch Joshua v 10 Puddings - they will pay for anything once Earn gives the sales pitch.
On his own young Soup won't be a PPV headliner but if you team him up with some more of Eddie's star attractions like Kate Taylor, Buatsi and some HW brawlers like Babic, oh and Chisora might still be knocking about you could stick that lot together and sell it as a multi main event extravaganza. Was going to suggest Connor Benn and Okolie be on the card but by then I'd expect both to be main eventing PPV's by themselves, the latter arguably deservedly the former not so much.
Couldn't say anything else could he, we all watched the fight & even Edward Couldn't gloss over it, got to laugh at his comments on bad judging etc, it's not incompetence, it's not "some like different things" It's corruption & Eddie's complicit, he has to be. He'll be happy enough the noise from Hattons result has diverted some attention from Howard Foster giving AJ the first 2 rounds, what was that if not corrupt.
They can’t win either way, if they’re silent and ignoring it it’s only going to come up in every interview (bar IFL who are paid not to ask the tough questions.)
lol they calling it best performance of his career.. but he didnt look any better then usual to me.. just the other guy looked LEVEL below the other 4 guys hatton fought lol
