    Jacksonville, FL:
Contrary to several recent rumors, IBF/WBO/WBA Lightweight king Nate Campbell has no plans to vacate any of his world titles, especially the IBF belt. "I've heard this in a few places, and there's no truth to it whatsoever. There's no way I'll vacate my IBF title. Ms. Muhammad, Mr. Tucker, Mr. Peoples, and everyone else within the IBF believed in me, even when nobody else would so much as rank me. I would never turn my back on them. So folks can forget all this chatter about me vacating any of my titles. It ain't going to happen. Anyone who wants any of my titles is gonna have to come get them the old fashioned way. They're gonna have to beat me, and take them from me. After my WBO defense against Joan Guzman, I only have 2 options available to me. My IBF mandatory defense against Ali Funeka, who just knocked out Zahir Raheem for the #1 spot, or, the IBF rules would permit me to make a unification fight with Pacquiao for his WBC title. The rules allow unifications to take priority over mandatories. But that's it. After Guzman, my next fight will be with either Funeka or Pacquiao." said Campbell.

His last fight with Diaz made me a instant fan. If he beats Guzman, and gets a unification with Pacquiao, were talking Fighter of the Year :yep

I've never heard or seen talks regarding Campbell vacating any of his belts.

Was there any pressure from the governing bodies to do so?

No, but after Julio Diaz won on ESPN last week, a few reporters started some bs about Julio soon fighting for a vacant IBF title. I suspect the rumors started from there......

    Oh okay.

Campbell is very much on track. I would love to see him beat the hell out of Casa or make a unification with Pacquaio after he disposes of Guzman.

Casa is out of the question. It can only be Pacquiao or Funeka. Nate will not give up his IBF belt.

If IBF insist on a mandatory fight next . . . then fight Funeka first to get it out of the way . . . if not the Pac fight should be next.

Of course it's eassier said than done . . . the negotiations will tell.

Well obviously we prefer Pac. The IBF would be okay with either the mandatory with Funeka OR the unification with Pac.

It's really up to Top Rank. lol

Great News. Campbell vs. Pacquiao is the biggest fight at Lightweight that needs to be made... if he can beat Guzman. I'll be rooting for Nate.

    Yeah yeah..

I'd be going for Pac in this fight, but a close one that I think would go all 12 rounds.. I see them both starting off in the middle of the ring, just going at each other early in the fight.. I think Pac will start to get the better of Campbell towards the mid rounds, possibly aggravating him with his speed and with some nice clean punches.. Pac will be moving a lot more than Diaz and coming from different angles and I just see Campbell tiring quicker than Pacquiao and Pacquiao winning a lot of the later rounds for a decision.. I wouldn't be surprised if Campbell got cocky early in the fight either.. Either way, I think it's the best fight that can be made below the 147 division right now and even though Pac is my man, I have a lot of respect for Campbell because he is truely a man of his word and a great fighter..
