To be fair to Luke, he showed a far better performance than Smith did 2 weeks ago. Garcia telling him in the corner post fight "that he learnt a lot" is quite telling and respectful. Unlucky Luke. At least you dropped him and came forward.
Campbell did himself proud Knockdown was good for Garcia, it will bode him sellf. Garcia is a talent, great power, accuracy and of course the looks, but still a lot to learn. He is not ready for Tank yet
Is it just me who weren’t TOO impressed with Garcia? he definitely struggles with Lopez, Davis I think has the power to knock him out, Lomachenko interesting, Haney is a very close one.
This fight came down to the physical deterioration of a 33 year old fighter in with a 22 year old. A man who has been killing himself to make weight for his entire adult life and is now physically done. In the 5th he got lazy/slowed down allowing Garcia to get inside of the line. Got caught with a bomb at the end of the round as a result, and the fight was over from that point on. He never recovered from that in the fight. Campbell was technically head and shoulders above Garcia but wasn’t physically prime enough to execute the winning gameplan for 12 rounds. Garcia looks like a Golden boy version of Amir Khan. Hand speed, lack of ring IQ and a dodgy chin. I think they steer clear of a serious challenge for at least 12 months after seeing him dropped like that. Garcia does have the benefit of one to one tuition with Canelo to help him on his technical deficiencies but I think he gets stopped at the highest level. Haney, Teofimo Lopez and Tank Davis do him.
