Yeah, I mean it's not like he hasn't been ripped off twice before without showboating.

Tarver disagrees with you: he saw the 11 close.

But then again, taking a color commentator's opinion as an argument for your case doesn't hold much weight. Tarver's a solid commentator but he's not THAT good an analyst. He's right and wrong about stuff just like the rest of us and has his biases just like the rest of us. Just look at Foreman in Hopkins-Trinidad.

Post a video and mention the punches Cloud lands after that smashing right that hurt Campillo. I bet you can count them on one hand. Campillo blocks/dodges a LOT! Could looked stiff in his legs, unable to really come close to Campillo. And when he did, his body shots were blocked and right hands went off the mark. Pressure, combined with the other guy retreating, doesn't count for that much unless virtually nothing else happened in the round. It did.

Like another poster said, it looked - strangely as it may sound given how we'd expected the reverse scenario beforehand - like Campillo had Cloud in a bad position up against the ropes. It was a position where he increasingly fired less shots in return. His vision was seriously troubling him. Had I not known the result, I might easily have thought that Campillo was getting close to stopping him.

Of course, a fighter getting hurt in a round he previously dominated CAN swing it against it. One example of that is Margarito-Cotto 1, round 10. Cotto, although under severe pressure, looked like winning the round with clean punches. But the round was still close - close but clear. The Margarito hurts Cotto quite badly the last ten seconds and Cotto holds on. THAT'S when hurting your opponent swings the round - when the round was close enough. Getting pasted for the first half and then hurting your opponent without following it up and mostly missing after that does NOT. Sorry, but I simply can't see it.

Campillo must have landed about twenty very damaging blows. Look at Cloud's face and the referee's intervention. No, faces don't lose rounds but getting punished against the ropes for a dominant part of the round do.

But I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. Why don't post a vid and we could see for ourselves?

Out of the 3 minutes rd, Campillo dominated 45 sec, Cloud the rest.

The rd begins with Campillo landing only one punch in 40 seconds. Cloud does all the work.
Then Campillo lands a good shot, and starts pepering Cloud for the next 20 sec.
There's a break in the action for 15 sec, then again Campillo unleashes his punches for 25 sec until the halfway point where the cut is checked by the doctor.

You say Cloud was about to be stopped; then why does Cloud resume by crowding and pressing Campillo ?

If Campillo had him so hurt, why didn't he press his advantage when they resumed. ? Why s Cloud able to nearly deck Campillo if he was on the brink himself ?

The last 90 sec are 85% Cloud, you can't dispute that.

Guess which part retained the judges ?

There's no equating what Cloud did in the last 90 seconds to what came before from Campillo. Cloud resumed coming after Campillo because he was desperate and got a burst of energy after getting a break to get his cut checked. He still didn't land anything of note and Campillo was clearly toying with him during that time frame, blocking or slipping most of Cloud's punches. Campillo then opened back up on Cloud, landing some more, and then Cloud landed his one good shot of the round, a counter right while Campillo was coming in on him. That backed Campillo off of him, but did not "nearly deck" Campillo, and Cloud proceeded to take advantage of this by landing nothing of note. Again, not hard to score, Cloud might have won the last half of the round based on workrate and that one shot, but he didn't beat out Campillo's dominance early.

Here's the fight up on Youtube for anyone interested.
