Can a 2 year layoff affect a fighter like Mayweather?

    This lay-off was taken based on self choice and the need of a break. Breaks like that can bring a fighter back better than before, worse or similar. It's unknown till the fight is on.

    Mayweather will put on a show and will stop Marquez. Marquez cuts badly and takes a lot of shots. He was behind against Diaz before stopping him. There is no way Marquez will win on points and no way he is stopping Mayweather.

    A 2 yr. lay off will affect any fighter. How much of an affect remains to be seen. What you can do in training is a whole hell of a lot different than what you can do come fight time.

    PBF trains like a lunatic, so that should help off set the lay off. We won't really know for sure until we're a few rounds into the fight.

    Absolutely it can, and it probably will.

    How Marquez, aging and past his best, handles a rusty Mayweather, I don't yet have a prediction for.
