Can a boxer's stock possibly get any lower than Valuev's?

He'd already had a pattern of being on the receiving end of several questionable or even gift decisions, then when it happened against a crowd and emotional, underdog, favorite against Holyfield, his respect dropped below sea level....... then when he had the Chagaev incident last week, it got even lower, and then when he flat-out refused to face Wlad, he's reduced to being a complete joke of a boxer.

I was the first to defend him back in 2005/2006, but he has not delivered in the way i expected him to. The only positives were his excellent performance against Liakhovic, a decent one against Barret and the fact that he faced Chagaev, being humble in defeat afterwards...., but that's it. His refusal to take on other ranked contenders, let alone beltholders (WLAD) is just a disgrace to boxing.

I do think it's Sauerland/Don King (both of whom are famous for bogus decisions) who do the evil work here and Valuev is kind of their puppet, but i don't care.

Yea this guy is turning out to be the glorified circus act that many thought he was. It will be interesting to see what his next move will be

Good to see people start talking about this FINALLY, the guy has no stock at all and we all know why they're overprotecting him the way they are. This is a circus show, people pay to see some gigantic freak go in the ring and only throw jabs from round one to 12 and run out of gas doing so. There's nothing else special or admirable there, wonder when they will decide it's enough and feed him against someone else they plan to promote.

Valeuv was Wlads first choice and DECLINED like a big *****...Chagaev stepped up to the plate and i give mad props to him for the short notice....even WHEN he loses...i will have more respect for him than Arreola and Valeuv who declined to fight for the championship of the world and recognized heavyweight champ

I always thought you were too harsh on him, but i'm starting to side with your point of view more and more as time goes by.

At least Arreola has the excuse of not being in training to fight, which IMO is justifiable if asked to face as big a challenge as Klitschko. Valuev just had a camp.

Probably to the fridge. Screw him- he's boring and epitomises everything that's bad about boxing today. Can you imagine what Ali or Louis would have done to him?
