Can a prime Calzaghe afford to give up 2 rounds to a prime Roy Jones or Bernard Hopkins - come back, and win?

*The knock down in both fights was an instant given two rounds*

no one could have taken off 2 rounds against a prime roy jones or bhop especially when jones was at 160 and 168 but i doubt calzaghe would have been stupid enough to take a round or 2 off against either of them if those fights were 10 yrs ago i also think that if jones or bhop knocked him down in their primes its possible the fight may have been over shortly after that

Are we talking a prime Calzaghe or the Calzaghe that fought Hopkins and Jones?

The version who beat Kessler convincingly, schooled Lacy, beat Hopkins, and a shot Jones - in the space of just over the last two years. Not the prime one who squeaked a decision to Robin Reid.

Hell no! Anyone who believe otherwise is simply lying to themselves.

So can a 35+ year old Calzaghe give up 2 rounds to a prime Hopkins or RJJ?

Hopkins was in his prime at that age, Roy was winning the Heavy Weight Championship of the world.

My point is that Joe gave up two rounds at the start of both fights (through the knockdowns), could he have clawed it back against prime versions of either guy? Yes or no?

Hell, I'm going to **** off these Brits: at LT. Heavy I doubt Calslappy could even get past a prime Lou De Valle.

I understood the point you were making from the first post you made but I'm just asking if we are talking prime vs prime here? What the 3 fighters did at certain ages isn't really the issue when you are saying Hopkins and Jones are in their prime when these mythical fights happen but Calzaghe isn't?

The thing is, nobody knows when Joe's prime is...

*I will adjust the thread to state prime JOe*
