The question/thread title might come across weird.

I will give a couple of quick examples

Muhammad Ali (GOAT, for everything in ring and out (Vietnam etc)), but on a pure fighter (best) it would be Sugar Ray Robinson over Ali.

Mayweather (GOAT, PPV star, undefeated etc), but Sugar Ray Leonard better on a best fighter ranking

It's almost like the MVP/best player debate in other sports, you can be the best player in the world for your team, but not the most valuable player (i.e Lebron the best, but Giannis/Luka more valuable).

So my question is two parts

    1. Can a fighter simultaneously be the greatest fighter in the sport and everything that encompasses it (where they have mainstream influence like a Mike Tyson) while also being the best fighter in the world in strictly in terms of skill and resume?

    2. Is there any such fighters today that can reach the heights of a Ali or a Floyd where they can be considered simultaneously the best fighter in the ring and also the greatness (in/out) of the ring that encompasses that?

Right now the only fighters that I see that fits that mold is Pacquiao, Canelo, and possibly Joshua/Fury.

I don't know if other guys like Spence/Crawford has the natural charisma and pull where the fans can gravitate towards their excellence within the sport since both have personalities of a cardboard.

Maybe Joe Louis, he raised millions dollars for the war effort, even donating two purses from title defenses. He is an inspiration for all of us. And he was also a great master Who threw punches with wastless accuracy, a very cautious boxer_puncher with THE greatest trainer of all Times jack Blackburn.

Ali is the GOAT because he self-proclaimed that abbreviation for himself.

Floyd has a chinese knock-off version "TBE, The Best Ever" which hasn't really stuck.

Ali is icon of boxe for all World and forever.

I agree that Ali version from 70 ies most likely was not capable to defeat even Droticos, Briedis, prime Huck or Glowacki, yeah, I ecpect nervous reaction here and predictable posts. :D Not alone this version might beat prime Lewis, Klitschkos or prime Povetkin, it is total nonsense, this version of Ali had been KTFOed by these all.

Ali from 60 ies? This Ali version was GOAT version in boxing. Ali was 215 lbs vs 220 lbs Liston and now guys are calling the same Usyk as puny cruiserweight at 217 lbs. yeah, he looks out of prime for sure.
This doesn't means that despite western fans attitude Ali from 70 ies might finish distance with 32 y.o ( not current ) Usyk on his own feet to get cards :D:D:D like vs Norton.

Not weird. It's transparent. You did all those mental gymnastics and wrote all of that text to assumptively claim that Floyd is the GOAT. Floyd is NOT the GOAT.You're not fooling anybody.

As they used to say on ESB, stfu noob.
