:huh And yet he never showed any signs on not making weight, or fighting like a fighter struggling.

Hey I was wrong, I thought the Margo1 fight took alot out of Cotto(e) . . . but he proved me wrong. He looked like **** against jennings, Clottey, Pac and looked pretty good against foreman, then above average versus Mayorga, and great against Margo.

After his lost against the plaster master I did not see the same fighter in the ring . . . I think he was damaged psychologically not physically like I first feared. Margo nearly pounded the life out of the guy and I think once he realized that Margo was a dirty rotten scumbag all along, plus a new great trainer in his corner has done him a world of good. I do not think he was ever shot (like i thought he might be heading that way sooner rather than later) like RJJ but he was not the same fighter after the Plaster master fight then he was before.

All of this is nothing but mere speculation, the facts are Cotto got his ass handed to him by Margo at 147. He was coming off of a string of poor performances and then he fought Pac. he moves up to 154 has a string of strong performances and is recognized as the MAN at that weight and fights Floyd. If you think this statement is wrong prove it:deal

I swear to God the second Margarito fight is a carbon copy of the first except Cotto knew how to grab and Margarito was more damaged - Cotto was getting desperate and wild like in the first one, because he DOMINATED Margarito until he got tired in the second half of the fight just as clearly as he dominated the second fight, but this time the damage took its toll on Tony.

    Same fight.

He looked awful against Boudoani and Mullings. Tito really put the nail in the coffin though.

I can see that, Cotto(e) looked like a totally beaten man at the end of the first fight. I think that beat down lingered on his mind long after. I think the Pac loss only compounded his downward spiral. He looked very good against foreman but I do not think he was at the top of his game again until the second Margo fight. He has a great trainer and he wanted revenge for what that slimball did to him the first go around. I thought he should never have fought the plaster master again because he was only giving the ******* a payday but he needed that fight to excise those demons

looked like **** against clottey and pacman? people were actually picking clottey to beat cotto at the time and cotto proved them wrong by beating a top WW in clottey. cotto actually was doing good against pacman in the first 2 rounds until he got hit by a pacman bomb.

he made a strong perfrormance at 154 based on what? his opposition at 154 is mediocre at best. you cannot compare foreman, mayorga and the margarito that has an eye injury to cotto's opposition at WW. even *****s back then were saying that cotto was fighting a one-legged foreman, a shot mayorga and a one-eyed margarito only to take it all back when they knew that floyd was fighting cotto next.

They can fight @ the full 147. You do know that Pacquiao is a SMALL Welterweight? He isn't as big as Mayweather or Cotto.

exactly. We don't expect Brian villoria to fight Cotto at 154 because Villoria fights at 112 pounds.

do you know where he started his career? 112 lbs. That's bigger than the weight class manny started his career at. Most fighters DON'T jump 20 million weight classes because they can't and shouldn't have to. Manny has maxed out at welterweight and the catchweight fight at 150 proved that.
