Of course you cannot become unshot. You can however get a better trainer, fight at the weight you're most comfortable at and overall be in a better place mentally after suffering a loss. These can all equal a far better performance, and if one cannot admit that they have a hidden agenda.

I think Floyd fought the better version of Cotto_Of course if you struggle to make weight,it will affect your performance.Cotto was having difficulty on the scales around the time he fought Shane.Something Arum knew and why they fed him to Pacquiao.
The main thing is tho......Cotto agreed to fight at 145 so he can't blame anyone else. The key to Cotto's success at jmw is that he didn't fight the biggest guys up there

    How about Ricky Hatton?

Pacquiao fought Hatton @ 140 which he was undefeated at and his natural weight class. Pacquiao Knocked him out in 2 rounds.

Floyd dragged Hatton @ 147 which isn't his natural weight class and TKO Hatton in 10.
Does that make Pacquiao a better fighter?
    :huh

Well, we were talking about Cotto. And I think my point was self evident you quoted it.

But, if you want to discuss Hatton...I'll bite. Hatton was undefeated when he fought Mayweather. Secondly, Hatton never returned to 140 and looked good. So, I'd say either he out grew the division or his lifestyle greatly compromised his boxing performance. Like I said earlier, to tell if a fighter is shot you have to look at his body of work after a certain point. Hatton has not looked impressive since his loss to Floyd at 147lbs.

For your argument to have any merit, in this conversation, Hatton would have to have dropped back to 140 and regained his old form or moved up and looked impressive. Then Floyd refused to drop down to 140 to face Hatton in a rematch. Did Hatton regain his form? Did he try and get a rematch where weight was a sticking point?

So, no you can not use Hattons fight as a measuring stick for the same reason you can not say Pavlik is better than Hopkins because Pavlik stopped Taylor and Hopkins dropped two Decisions to him.

We shall see who Pacquiao chooses for November but If it were to be Cotto, I hope its @ 154 and beats cotto i would give him more credit but also have Marquez & Bradley in line.

Yes, or any top ten 154s with 2 good legs. When he faced a big sww (not even top 20), he asked for a 150 catchweight and 160 rehydration clause.

seriously he wasn't shot or damaged in the first place:lol:

what a ****en joke, people just like to exaggerate at times, there are different types of fans here and most of them have an agenda. When people really say it like that it just makes cotto look ****ing weak and fragile. Its really sad to see that it educates fans in a bad way.
