true warriors would rather be dead and not know they have lost rather than have a rematch knowing they have

Why do people keep saying this? Cotto did not quit, he took a knee from getting hit with literal concrete for 10 rounds. his corner came in to stop the fight from the beating cheato was putting on him.

Pretty sure Cotto was willing to die in the ring that night.

I don't think he was and it's perfectly okay. That was my point. Cotto later said in the face off before the Margarito rematch that he is not willing to die in the ring under any circumstances because his family is more important to him than boxing which is a perfectly reasonable explanation.

If they are prime that's tough to forgive.

If it's like Morales or DLH against Pacquiao then I'm ok with that.

Cotto quit after taking a horrendous beating. He admitted that he told/agreed with his corner to stop it.

Nothing wrong with it, he had the fight beaten out of him.

They have a family, life ... would you give up your life for your workplace ? Most likely not, so don't expect them to do so either.

This is true. But if Robinson is unable to physically continue then so to are many fighters deemed quitters for having stopped midway through a savage beating or to have an injury... Armchair fans need to except it no different than a "stoppage" win or loss. Because that's what it is.

I thought the ring-side doctor stopped the fight and wouldn't let Robinson continue. I agree with what you said by the way. edit My mistake. The ring-side physician didn't stop the fight, Robinson wasn't physically able to get off his stool.

true but health comes first, or else you cant be a true warrior on any other occasion ever again.

best to live rather than die, then you have a chance to prove yourself a true warrior again rather than never again. life aint no john wayne movie.
