There's a current discussion re the above about Cotto. Some fans mentioned that prior to Pac fighting Cotto, Cotto was already shot. Now it seems that these same fans mentioned that Cotto is now rejuvenated and has somehow been unshot. :?

    What's your opinion?

He wasn't shot before Pacquiao. Nobody thought that. If someone said he was, they're a fool.

You're confusing the terms "shot" and "damaged goods".

Lots of people thought he was damaged goods after Margarito I...and he was, for a while.

Damaged goods can become fixed. Takes time.

For ****'s Sakes. Cotto isn't shot.. he's simply a tad past his prime. Shot = Morales/RJJ/Holyfield

I know IB. But there were a lot of comments re cotto being shot prior to the pac fight.

This is just ridiculous because these same people are now saying cotto isn't shot anymore.

Personally, I think cotto is past prime but definitely not shot.

:conf If they did, they were using the wrong terminology (or they were just wrong).

Most people - including both fans and boxing media heads - agree to this day that he was damaged goods after losing to Margarito. That's a completely different situation than shot.

Obviously he got over it eventually. Since moving up to LMW he's shown none of the ill effects that lingered throughout 2009 (and it wasn't just against Pacquiao; people commented on it against Jennings and Clottey too)

    Let's adjust the terminology then.

Can a "damaged goods" fighter be undamaged? Your saying when a fighter is considered damaged goods, its not something major? He still can be undamaged?

Is that what your saying IB?
